Hi,
Good advice above, once you post an SOA, people can advise where cuts could be made.

Hi Russell
Welcome to the forum. As well as posting up your SOA figures it would be useful if you can give us a brief summary of your circumstances, so that any advice we give will be more relevant for you.

Hi everyone I will put up a SOA shortly this is a very big step to take a hell of a lot of things to think about ,it have always been a bit of a reluctant person so give me time I suppose you get that with anybody new to this and it's bloody scary .0

The sooner you get it all on paper the sooner you can start fixing it
Yes it's scary and I don't think anyone will disagree with you on that! But you know it needs to be done, and I find the fear of the unknown is worse than concrete numbers I can work on constructively.

Hi Russell421, I think lots of us around here have been in that scary place when you realise that you can't continue as you have been. It's scary when you have to write down all your incomings, outgoings and debts but as MrsTinks says you can't start fixing it until you know what it is that you're facing.“Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”

The last 12 months have been a nightmare both financially and mentally gone from having a good income to benifits moving house (twice) illness and in the background the debt always there in my thoughts sleepless nights pain worry the whole lot got to get this sorted out before I sink into big depression if im not already there .I will put up a SOA as soon as Christmas is over we are OK until then .I don't want to have to take us on this journey before then I'm sure you will understand.0

In the nicest way possible - I disagree. You don't have to start the actual journey of paying off debt before Christmas, but wouldn't you at least want a plan in place before the New Year? If you get it sorted now - then you can head into the new Year with a smileMoney money money.

You are probably right and when I think about it I have had this plan in place for years I'm sure everyone who has got to this stage has gone over and over it hundreds of times in there heads .I have been looking on here for years at people's situations and thinking to my self i will have to face up to this thing one day .I am stood on the edge of the pool wondering whether I have the strength to dive in as I said earlier give me time and I will .0
