Bags for life

Options
I send season's greetings to the person so desperate that they had to steal all but one of my 'bags for life' from my Tesco trolley, this afternoon.

One had a small split, so I hope they used that one for their jars and bottles....

If you were away from your trolley might they have thought they'd just been left?

They were in the well of my shallow trolley, which I never left, but obviously turned away from to pick up items.

I think they were taken while I reached for a fruit crumble in the 'reduced' cabinet, as this first item bought was put on top of the bags (and I didn't notice any missing, as they 'kindly' left me one.)

I know it is annoying but in a way it is also amusing - of all the things someone could nick it just so happens to be some bags, from another customer, that are probably worth a few pence.

Just take satisfaction in the belief that it was the ripped bag they used for their very expensive bottle of wine :)

Just get new ones and scan the barcode on the bottom of the bag for free replacement. Simple and no more splits. Problem solved.

You don't get it. The OP is annoyed that she had something stolen that she has had to shell out for to replace. I'd replace them at Asda because they charge a bargain 6p for a bag that you (or any potential thief) will never have to pay to replace.

I also had a fabric bag (which was also a souvenir of a conference I visited) taken from my trolley last year. Now I always put items of shopping on top of them asap after entering the store.

A few weeks ago I saw someone steal a bag for life from a homeless man. He left his sleeping spot and walked round the corner to urinate (which is obviously not pleasant) when a random passer by emptied the bag (which contained a sleeping bag) then walked off with the bag for life! It was the middle of the day and the thief was carrying a few groceries which they couldn't be bothered to buy a bag for.

I couldn't quite believe what I saw seeing. Being the other side of the river, there was absolutely nothing I do to stop it.

Maybe your bag had a really nice picture on it. I've got 3-4 of these bags now and they're really cheery looking - with different pictures.

If it had a nice picture on it -AND- if they wanted that crumble they saw your hand touching .... they might've decided that nobody deserves a nice bag AND a crumble in their life.... so helped you out there :)

I had proper jute bags stolen once, the person who took them carefully emptied the items that I had self scanned out and walked off with the bags while I waited at customer services.

Look on the bright side, they left you the trolley with your pound coin in it.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
