Hi everyone, I just have to tell you how easy this claiming malarkey really is. A couple of years ago I was reading on MSE about PPI and decided to try my luck on a loan I was about to finish paying (2 months left). So, I downloaded the Template letter and went on to send it off to Loyds (Black Horse). They booted it out so I waited a few weeks and passed it to the Ombudsman. RESULT, I got £3,700 back within 6 months.
So now, a couple of months ago, Im reading on MSE again about Packaged Bank Accounts and how to claim back the monthly fee they have been taking for services I will never use.
I used the Resolver website (highly recommended) as mentioned by MSE.
My bank is RBS, so I sent the Template letter to the head office and they responded within a week, saying they had passed it on to their claims department. A couple of weeks later I got an email asking me to phone them because they needed more information. I called and they simply wanted to verify all the details I had supplied in the letter. Just 3 weeks later, I was amazed to see my bank balance had gone up by £1100.
A letter arrived the next day with a breakdown of all charges paid since Feb 2011, they gave me a full refund plus interest plus compensation for the bother of having to claim, and an apology for being misled into having the account.
The moral of this thread is CLAIM, CLAIM, CLAIM.
Happy Days...:j
THANK YOU MSE and all who succeeded before me, you inspired what I did.
