Did the OP actually try the whatever they want to call it on the child in question? I doubt it. Just threw a hissy fit.

For a poxy 12 quid, especially at this time of year, I would have given the item to someone I knew was struggling and would have appreciated the gesture, or given it to a charity shop as my good deed, then leave a neg to reflect the seller inaction.

£12 may be naff all to you, but that's not the point. It's not what they ordered - so the seller should have sorted it out. And how do you know what the OP did or did not do? (this crossed with their message).

Actually........ I haven't sent it back yet! How about as a good deed, especially at this time of year you PayPal me the "poxy" £12 (there was actually an extra £5 on top for postage but hey, who's counting?), and I will cancel the return and give the jacket to my local charity shop?

No. No I didn't. It's actually a gift for a friends child and they live in Brasil, so that would have been a bit hard.
    :rotfl:

It's summer in Brazil right now, with temperatures 20 degrees and more. Why are you sending a winter coat there now?

In six months time, however, it will be winter there and the child will have grown into the coat / jacket and will get the wear.

    Correct.

Because my relative who is taking the gifts only visits in December. If you were to visit Brasil once a year, you'd want to go when it was hot, right?

Yes, but sadly no cigar. The wee one is currently 6 months old, so in 6 months a 12-18 months size will fit not a 18-24 months.

Personally, I would prefer the cooler winter temperatures.

Shame you didn't mention this at the start. Looks like you have made stuff up on the fly to shore up your failing story but I will believe you.

Children have a habit of not growing linearly, just to match garment label sizes. Get your relative to take it anyway. It still could fit if the child fills out fast. Otherwise, get them to pass it on to one of the many impoverished families in Brazil. From the Brazilians I know, you may even get a heartfelt thank-you message.

Why would I have to mention it? And for the record I haven't "made anything up".

My point was I ordered an item that was described as a certain size. It arrived and it wasn't that size. I messaged the seller to discuss and they ignored me. I then opened a return request which they ignored. Then, and only then I left factual feedback and I receive a pretty bizarre message.

The weather in a country on the other side of the world or your opinion whether a certain item of clothing will fit a certain child doesn't really have much to do with it..... I'm not sure what your point is? Or what you're accusing my of lying about? (Or WHY you're accusing me of being a liar for that matter?).

Anyway you've obviously formed some bizarre opinion about me and my intentions, so I'll just leave you to it....

Just to be clear, I am not calling you a liar. You have added bits to your original post as the thread progressed that perhaps you should have outlined at the beginning.

I simply offered my opinion. You don't like my opinion. Fair do's but that is the danger of posting on the internet. Some people may disagree with you.

I doubt many buyers would agree that receiving the wrong item and then being ignored by the seller was acceptable.

Im not sure why you think all the extra info was needed to start with ,buyer ordered item in size a but was sent size b. Item received is not the item ordered. Whether the child would have grown into it or not is irrelevant.
You buy something no matter what it is you expect to receive what you ordered nothing more or less.
