I CBA either but think dds will be putting up the tree and decs when they pop round.

The only place the tree can go is in the conservatory and I think they plan on fairy lights round the living room window. I suggested buying a star shooter and putting that in the front garden so it lights up the house in one move but they did not seem keen.

Have a feeling that when I get back from Liverpool on Sunday evening I might have a "surprise " waiting for me. Middle dd is staying over while I am away.

    Hugs to all.

Weel it's official I am unemployed as of noon today. Tbh I feel so much better as the stress has left me now (well the stress related to work that is).
DH took today off and I have come home to a clean hoovered and dusted house with the washing done and DW on. It's a lovely suprise to say the least. He is now cooking me lunch . Feeling really spoilt.
My engineers nearly had me in tears this morning as they were all sad to see me leave . Got some lovely messages from them . Even one of our clients said it would not be the same without me and they are fools to let me go.
    Anyhoo better eat my lunch.
Hugs to all in need xx
    Bright Blessings xx

  • Dumpling - Terribly sad news, I hope she's ok. Isn't today your anniversary too?
Jackie - such a lovely story, thank you much for sharing.

Our tradition lies in the evening of Christmas in that the whole family (all 20 of us) get together for a lovely meal and a jolly. It's all very sensible and well behaved and as we travel 30 miles into Edinburgh for it, we need a designated driver. This has been the case for all of the 26 years I've on this planet. It's fantastic to see everyone because despite being a small family in comparison to others, we're spread all over Scotland - some even in Turkey - so it's great to catch up.
  • Afternoon.....(((((((((((hugs))))))))))) if you need one.

OH at the dentist this morning, I went into Lidl and then on to morrison. Home we had split pea soup and then set off to my friends.

Tea, cake and a chat, we left before it started to get dark, did not want to drive in the dark.

Waiting for me at home was the letter from my visit to the cardiologist last month, not good. I have made an appointment to see the Dr next week to discuss the letter and also the MRI scan I have been sent an appointment for.

Fish, wedges and mix veg for supper banana for dessert.
  • Evening chums ,just back from DDs,nice evening, chatting and reminiscing about her previous birthdays. When her late Dad came home on leave from his job in the Sudan back in the 1980s and laid a trail of five pound notes ,one for every year of her life (13) and how excited she was to follow the trail downstairs to see him after he had been away for four months :) She was asleep when he got in very late the night before and so he left a note on her bedroom door to say "Follow the notes and find your present " We had arranged not to tell her he was on his way home .To see the look on her face as she came through the kitchen door was just fabulous. :):):)

This afternoon's History club was so good (Alan Bennett) and our tutor had made a lemon and lime fridge cake which was delicious, she rally does spoil us all.

Right I'm off to bed shortly as I am going to the Dickens festival tomorrow in Rochester to lend my support to the Medway Homeless group.

    Keep warm and dry chums

    JackieO xx

Thank you for the caring words LW, I did in fact feel much better today, started quite low and a bit tearful but at one point mid morning something snapped and suddenly I felt much, much better. I am puzzled because this sort of short and sharp ups and downs of mood feel hormonal, but I am well past the menopause. Go figure, the important is that I feel better.

Dumpling I hope your DSiL gets better soon.

DS is here and will be here until tomorrow afternoon, am so happy!

    Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
