Use this minimum income calculator give you an indication of what is "fair" for a reasonable standard of living.

These figures are calculated by an independent organisation (Loughborough University), so they impartial and objective.

Your creditors will probably (and reasonably) expect you to trim your social and cultural activities, but you can easily hide at least some of that elsewhere in your budget.

Your signature says £40,571. 6 Years 7 Months to being Debt Free.

That's just over £500 per month.

Was that the balance in 2013? What is it now?
  • Morning All,

Still feeling as sick as a parrot and fed up. Sorry I forgot to alter my signature. It's now standing nearly £32,000 goodness knows how I have managed that.

    Thank you. Carol

Why not fill in the SOA calculator we use on here post it up? It would give us an idea of what might or might not be the issue?

Your DMP provider can never make demands of you, they might warn you that when your creditors eventually ask to see your SOA then either not providing it or having unrealistic numbers in there will increase the chance of them taking alternative means to secure their payment if they believe they stand a chance in court of increasing their payments.

If you budget is realistic then there is no way that a court would award much more than what you pay now.

If you stick up the SOA then we can see if thee is an obvious problem with it that might have stood out with your DMP provider :)

    I agree with MrsT - let's have a look at a SoA.

Paying 32k at 200 per month is 160 months or over 13 years - that might be what is causing jitters at stepchange as the FCA has leaned on them not to make long-term dmps

I would start your own thread with your SOA as the first post.
  • Back again Peeps, Going through my budget again and still don't/can't pay the £408 they want from me. I owe about £300 (it's probably much more but) split between friends and Mum and Dad that I have not paid back would SC accept this or say it is too much and this could not be included. Thank you all again. Carol

I'll be sticking my SOA once I got all my bits and pieces together on here.

Hi Carol. You've barged in on someone else's thread here. Maybe you could start one of your own with a Statement of Affairs, then people can help you.

Get straight with your mum and dad and friends first - don't end up paying them pennies over years and years. You have some surplus income so it can't take more than a month or two to pay back £300.
