My wife was recently caught speeding in a 30mph area.
I have walked around trhe village we live in & have noticed a number of what look like hidden & non identified speed cameras attached to a number of lamp posts in strategic positions.
The boxes are grey and square & marked traffic technology Ltd with a local phone number.
Is anyone aware of these boxes & their purpose?
I have e mailed the local council to try & obtain further info. but if true this is surely a really sly way of catching people out with examples of 2 or 3 boxes within a 500 yard stetch of road.

If you check the website for the company it is clear that they make no devices approved for detecting speeding offences. More likely to be part of their traffic monitoring range of devices.

    Post a photo of them.

But you may also wish to remember that there's no legal requirement for speed cameras to be made highly visible. You may also wish to point out to her that only one person made the decision to drive through the village at a higher speed than 30mph...

She fully accepts the excess speed but it appears there are multiple devices set up around the village mainly on residential side roads. I have spotted 4 within a 500 yard area.
Awaiting reply from local council as to purpose.

You have spotted traffic monitoring equipment thats been there a long time not speed cameras.

The ticket will give the road name and thats all you need to check, the other devices in the area are irrelevent.

You are obviously under the control of " The Management ". You too could have avoided this if you had bought one of my anti-brainwashing caps i had on special offer this week. :)

Are you are already under their influence you need the super duper Gold plated version which im afraid comes at quite a premium over the standard unit.

Dont hesitate people, get your anti-brainwashing cap today at the bargain price of (insert ££££ here ) :)

Traffic monitoring equipment usually has a notice on it informing you that it isn't a speed camera, and begging you not to set fire to it.

(The ones round here do any way)

Not strictly true as of this October https://www.gov.uk/government/news/end-of-the-road-for-grey-speed-cameras
You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Still strictly true - it will not be a legal requirement, and no defence.
