Awww, bless - maybe they just like having their Mum come and tuck them up for the night. :D

Actually, it's a good thing it's Tru doing the daily music during December - if I put up some of the versions I know..... well, let's just not go there, eh? :rotfl:

Good news re Mr LW - his 2nd chest x-ray is back, and is all clear. :T I was so worried, particularly as his sister was taken by the evil C; so it's a big weight off my mind.
Still don't know why he has this persistent cough, but at least it's not anything sinister.

HM pizza for dins tonight; I had to have the BM down to make a loaf, so thought I might as well do a pizza base as well, while it's to hand (it lives atop the fridge freezer when not in use).

I don't normally post on this thread, but part of your post, bolded above, struck a cord, as Mr LW has a persistent cough.

Can I ask you what he does/did for a living?
  • Great news Mrs LW, brilliant.

Tru, I do like the carols, thank you.

LaineyT, no useful suggestions but a bit of virtual support.

I have had a b*tch of a week, ready to throw in the towel though I can't.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Thanks my friends for all your kind suggestions, we do go down the route of milkshakes with ff milk, cream and ice-cream in, she manages about half a pint at most. It just hurts so much to get food down now that very little appeals but we keep persevering. Our lovely hospice nurse has advised her to take the morphine about 30 minutes before attempting to eat. It helps a bit.

Edited to say am so pleased LW that all is well with OH's tests x

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Just popping on to say thank you for all the good wishes. I've had a lovely day with lots of visitors and now hubby is home we have enjoyed a really nice Chinese takeaway. We are about to watch a film together when he gets back from walking the dog.

Tru, thank you for the carol this morning x
Lainey, I hope your mum finds it a bit more comfortable to eat something soon x
AOD, sorry about your horrible week. I hope you can get to relax on the weekend x
LameWolf, I am so pleased that Mr LW is ok. When hubby had his cancer scare earlier this year I felt so afraid. It is such a relief when they get the all clear x

Hubby will be back any second so I will love you and leave you, take care xx

Hi Iris, welcome to the daily thread; Mr LW was for years an IT professional, working on Unix and Oracle - so basically a computer desk jockey. He retired last March. :o
Smoking wasn't allowed in any of the offices he's worked in (smokers had to go outside - as muchfor the sake of the machines as the people!!) and he has never smoked in his life himself.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Mrs LW great news I bet you are so relieved. Lainey the hospice nurses are amazing aren't they bless them.thinking of you both as its hard to see a loved one struggle to eat.My late OH lived on soups that I bulked out with pasta and blended.

Great afternoon, the three boys came after school and put my tree up in my sitting room and decorated it for me.

DGS Henry is so tall now at 15 he is just under 6ft.They do it every year as I like my tree to go up the night before my eldest DD Shelley's birthday and tomorrow she is 49 :)

Looking very festive in my house at the moment and the tree lights are twinkling away. Must get my cards sorted I know I bought the stamps but have put them away so safely I can't find the blessed things :)

Hope you all have a good evening
    JackieO xx

Thank you for the welcome LW.

Ordinary xrays don't always show the full extent of the problem and it is sometimes advisable to get a CT scan. It was the persistent cough that rang bells, but as Mr LW has not worked in the building trade/plumber/electrician/carpenter etc then I shall say no more.

    Good evening,

Lainey I am thinking of you and your DM (hugs).

Tru thank you for the carol!

LW great news, delighted for your and Mr LW.

Ancientofdays sorry about bad week, hope things gets better for you.

Coxy I hope you are ok, and also Hilstep.

Will light a candle before going to bed for all who need healing and prayers.

This morning I went to Pilates all achy and in a foul (low) mood, only stayed just over a half hour then had to leave because of joint aches and feeling tearful. Would have hated it to burst into tears there! Which I duly did once home, where DH very sweetly sat me down, gave me a cuppa and a couple of oatcakes with jam. It made it so much better. He is such a sweet, kind, decent man, my best friend and soulmate, even if at times he irritates me beyond words.

After lunch I went with a friend to a knitting group and DH's jumper progressed by a few inches. Who knows, I might even finish it this side of winter!

Being totally scatty and low in mood I totally forgot my GP appointment, very embarrassing. DH drove me at speed to the surgery but I arrived there 25 minutes after the appointment and could not be seen. However the receptionist gave me the results of the thyroid test and they are back to normal. I still need to see a GP to check a couple of things and now have an appointment for next week.

Dinner was a lovely chick pea and aubergine stew with fresh tomatoes, with brown rice. Pudding was a mashed up mango (courtesy of DD's food delivery) with banana and chia seeds. Very tasty.

Finished watching the Big Food Rescue on catch up and now waiting for DH to come back from his martial arts class.

STOP PRESS: Wonderful news, just got a call from DS, he is coming here tomorrow evening for dinner and overnight. I see him so rarely because he is always very busy, so this news has really made my day and lifted my mood!

    Good night.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
