Tru thanks for your fab start to December!

Housework today - kitchen clean, fresh bedding for us, laundry and maybe some ironing later.

Sandwiches for lunch, something & polenta for tea, think DS2 maybe with us which would be nice.

Hope everyone has a restful day.

  • Good morning one and all,

Super busy day ahead so it'll be short and sweet from me.

Went to collect my new sim from Carphone Warehouse and it's too big, so need to go back again tonight for the 4th time in 5 days. Very disappointing.

1st of December today means I need to start up a few DD's so it'll be a spend day for me unfortunately. Needs must.

    Dumpling - Happy anniversary :)
Gers - Enjoy your trip! Safe travels.
AoD - Hahaha, you made me laugh this morning.
Lainey - Hope your DM feels better today.

Good Morning chums and <<hugs >> to Lainey be strong honey for your DM.

Well 1st of December already, and the year is flying by.
My sis-in-law came yesterday for lunch and we had a good natter. She is flying off to mexico on the 12th for three months .She said daytime temps are around 22c, so she will miss all the frost and possible snow. She brought me one of her mini Christmas cakes that she makes every year.Only DD's ma-in-law and I enjoy Christmas cake so we share it on Boxing day :)

This morning I am going to catch up with my ironing as I am out tomorrow to history club (we are doing Alan Bennett :):):) his life and works ) so that should be good. Then on Saturday I am down in Rochester at the Dickens festival lending my support for the Homeless of Medway, a local charity that I am interested in. so its a busy week this week.Only cards to write and post left to do now .

Hope everyone has a good day and keeps warm and dry
    Take care

    JackieO xx

PS Thank T/A for the recipe for lentil and bacon soup, I will be trying that this weekend overnight in my SC (I too am not keen on bits in my soup :))
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Pinch an a punch for the first of the month. Just checked my bank account, it had a very healthy balance yesterday, this morning it is sadly depleted, all the monthly bills going out.

I am cheesed off with SSE, still no gas account up, it's at least 2 months since the meter went in.

Brightish morning, don't think it will last, still we are warm and cosy. I need to sort out laundry, would like to get it dry outside.

OH is still coughing occasionally, will keep giving him the medicine for a few more days, at least he is not keeping me awake any more. I am still in bed, I woke just as OH got out of bed, he told me to stay where I was he would bring my breakfast, so here I stayed.

I have had my appointment come through for the MRI scan, I am not too happy, they want to switch off my pacemaker and inject a drug that will make my heart race, then I have to get my pacemaker switched back on. I need more information before I agree to have it done. I am going to change the date anyway.

Time to get myself out of the pit and into the shower.

Lainey, when dad was ill and needed to put on weight I used to make a very calorific rice pudding (and also sago, which he loved but I know a lot of people don't). He also had the calorific drinks but found it hard to swallow the quantity, but the dr also prescribed something else which he had to take in 30ml doses and was over 100 calories a dose so it was easier to get down him. I devised him a regime which gave him over 2000 calories a day that he could tolerate but it was very difficult, my thoughts are with you and your DM, such a difficult time.

We collected DS and his wife from Stansted airport last night, DH managed to get in the wrong lane and go through the drop off area, which would have been ok except that you have to pay £3 to go through a barrier to get out. We managed to talk our way out of that and get to the car park, we were there 20 minutes and had to pay £3.60 so I'm glad we escaped the other charge.

We're going with them to see Henning Wehn in St Albans tonight, we've seen him before and he's very good - no swearing. I'm not a prude and will use choice language myself under extreme provocation but I hate comedians who lard every sentence with the F word. I'm expecting Henning to give us his take on Brexit which will probably be very funny.
  • Good Morning OSers!
Happy 1st December :rudolf: and hugs to any who want or need one.

What a chilly morning! My toes were like little ice cubes on school run.
I'm posting at work on my tea break...cheeky!
I'm just about ready for Christmas, only a few more bits to buy for DDs stocking and a couple of bottles of plonk. Can't believe how organised i have been this year round :T
Tea tonight will be jacket spud, fish and vegetables...note to self: get spuds on my way home.
This evenings plan is to finish up writing christmas cards, we don;t send many but DD still needs to finish hers for school.

Have great days all and keep warm! xx

Left the house early to go to slimming club - full of confidence as I had been really good. I put on a pound!!! snarl and sulk.

Maybe I should have looked up the calories in a bag of mints ( and crisps etc) :o

Had the pea and ham soup for lunch and enjoyed it and making mince with onions, carrots etc for later. I will also do a mashed potato topping and can eat it tomorrow when dd comes over. I managed to get train tickets for Liverpool and still need to pack an overnight bag tomorrow.

    Lainey

I found things like mash with butter, crumble with cream, cheesecake and soup with a little cream in it were tasty and easy to eat and calorific.

    Tru

    Nice to see the carols.

    Hugs to all

Hi all. Back with you after my rushed early start. DGDs co=operated and were dropped at school at 8.01!! Breakfast club just opening up. We seemed to avoid the rush hour traffic too and got to the hospital too early! Sat with a paper apiece to kill the time.

Anyway, surprise surprise, I saw the top man, despite the arrogant registrar being in attendance. After 3 years he has decided more should be done to solve my problem! First another cystoscopy (aaargh), liaise with microbiology and, if all else fails, referral for a second opinion!

A whizz through a few shops afterwards, including Sainsbobs for the Xmas wine supplies as 25% off every 6 bottles. It was very quiet, as was Aldi where we went for the rest of the shopping. Got a few more Xmas goodies to stash away and will try and keep my greedy mitts off them!

The DGDs are back again after their swimming/diving club so it's the customary Thursday night tea - Pasta Bolognese Bake. The Bolognese is now simmering nicely. Will pop the pasta on shortly and then make the cheese sauce topping. I would face a riot if they arrived "starving" and I had made something else!

LAINEY when Mr TA was at his lowest ebb and couldn't eat last year, I made him milk shakes from the strawberry milk nutritional drinks with Cornish dairy ice cream whizzed in it. He sucked it through a fat straw and always enjoyed it. About 600 cals per glass. It's so upsetting watching a loved one struggle with eating.

Enjoy the rest of the day folks and thanks for the festive post TRU. I'm another who looks forward to your daily rendition! xx

ps Forgot to wish the DUMPLINGS a Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your day!

  • TA, things sound a little more positive, at least the top man is willing to ask for a second opinion if he can't find the answer. Hopefully in the new year you will have some respite from the constant Utis.

There's no bullying and it's their choice to go up there but I feel sorry for them, they must be cold. As soon as I see them heading to bed, I go down and move them onto the perch with the others. They all shuffle up next to each other, seem to realise it's warmer and more comfortable and stay there for the rest of the night :D[/FONT]
Awww, bless - maybe they just like having their Mum come and tuck them up for the night. :D

Actually, it's a good thing it's Tru doing the daily music during December - if I put up some of the versions I know..... well, let's just not go there, eh? :rotfl:

Good news re Mr LW - his 2nd chest x-ray is back, and is all clear. :T I was so worried, particularly as his sister was taken by the evil C; so it's a big weight off my mind.
Still don't know why he has this persistent cough, but at least it's not anything sinister.

HM pizza for dins tonight; I had to have the BM down to make a loaf, so thought I might as well do a pizza base as well, while it's to hand (it lives atop the fridge freezer when not in use).
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
