Problem with Pipex

  • I have been in a dispute with Bulldog/Pipex and contacted the CISAS (Communications & Internet Services Adjudications Scheme) for advice and to sort the dispute out. They have been great and have upheld my complaint. It means I only have to pay £20 rather than the £200 bulldog were demanding.
If you have a dispute with your ISP, contact the CISAS asap.:T

    Nice one.

Would have also been nice to know what the issue was as it may help others.
  • The Issue was regarding terrible customer service, being billed incorrectly for months and also mis-selling. When I upgraded to their MAX service it was never made clear I was signing up for another 12 months contract.

Just going through exactly the same thing.

I emailed twice to ask why the money wasn't being taken out of my account.
I knew it was because my debit card expiry date had changed but at no time did they get in touch. Eventually I got an email threatening to cut me off, so I phoned them.

I explained what had happened and that I had sought to rectify the situation.
New details were taken, amount outstanding paid and all was well, or so I thought.

Got another email today saying that despite previous correspondence I had not yet set up any means of payment so they would be cut off in 10 days if I did nothing.

Phoned and woman told me I was in arrears of one month and she would pass me on to their credit section. Currently listening to music interrupted by recorded voice telling me how important my call is to them. Will pay the bill when I eventually speak to real person and then request my MAC from them. They used to be good but customer service is now so bad that I am off.

Going to give 02 a chance.

    An Update

Spoke to the credit bit - paid and set up further payment, very apologetic lady. Asked to get my MAC, she put me through to the Manchester cancellations office.

He asked why I wanted to leave, I explained because of poor customer service. He wanted to know if there was anything else that was making me leave and I said no. He then offered me a discount, but I cut across him saying no thank you I just want the code. He accused me of not listening to him. Cheeky !!!!!!. I told him that I was leaving because of their customer service and snide remarks like that don't help.

    That code better arrive soon

  • Firstly sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.
I am having major problems with Pipex despite having been a customer for three years.
One of the things they tried to do was take £204.00 from my bank which I didn't owe them.
I am frustrated at dealing with them on the phone at my expense particularly when you have to go over the same thing every time you ring them and still don't get anywhere, I am sure you know what I mean!
    Ok here is the idea.
I write to the chief executive of pipex directly and tell him how I have been treated.
This could apply to any company and there must be a way of getting the name and address of a chief exec (work address of course).
My friend done it with sky and got 6 months free.
    So let's get this going
    any help appreciated.

Just out of curiosity, why were they trying to take £204 out of your account?

and your idea is old news btw :p
  • You can threaten them with OFCOM.
  • Alao banks have a direct debit guarantee scheme, go to your bank and take all docs and explai. they can claim it back for you.
  • Firstly the £204.00 was because they said I had cancelled my direct debit at my bank.
    Fact I hadn't
Secondly ofcom is an option I am considering and I have registered this case with them. But I think there is an opportunity for me to get something out of Pipex if I contact the head honcho and tell him how his staff have treated me.
