On a slightly different note, our 'appliance fixer' suggested that we use powder rather than liquid as there was less 'build up' in the drum.
That was his experience in years of fixing 'gummed up' washing machines!0 -
I suspect your problem is with using cheap powders, such as Surf. I also used to find that Surf gave me problems, but switching to any other (ie: Ariel) meant the problem went away - another benefit to using good soap powder is that you need to use less to get your clothes clean.0
