DRP (Debt Recovery Plus Ltd) Parking Charge Court Action

DRP just buy the debt and see if they can get money out of people. They will continually send letters asking for money and as enough people will just pay them they make money. In fact if you just ignore they don't/can't do anything, in their words:
"we will recommend to our client that they take court action against you" or
"the creditor's solicitor may start court action to recover what you owe"
Neither of these will ever happen because the creditor sold the debt precisely because they don't want to do this and would not be able to most of the time - it's just not cost effective for them.
You can safely ignore.
I would even go a step further. Parking Notices by private companies are completely unenforceable, I don't even bother buying a ticket (unless I feel that it's a reasonable charge). I would certainly NEVER pay a parking charge notice.
Good grief where did you dream all that nonsense up, the only part that is correct is that debt recovery companies (in this scammers industry) can't take you to court.
The rest is dangerous garbage, they they don't "buy the debt" they work on a no win no fee basis, if they are unsuccessful in their greed quest they hand the case back.
If they had bought debts from the PPC how would the raft of PPC court cases we have seen recently come about?
Your advice is as mysterious as your commenting on a post that is nearly two years old!!0 -
Hi,
I’ve been reading the thread and I’m concerned that I’ve been unnecessarily paying Debt Recovery Plus. I’m currently on a payment plan, playing £37 a month. Would I be within my rights to cancel the direct debit for this company?
Many thanks in advance for any guidance,
James0 -
This is an old thread unnecessarily revived by the nonsense posted in #18 today!
Don't post any more here
Read up on debt collectors in #4 of the Newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum
You may well decide to stop paying DRP!
Then wait and see if you get a court claim for the balance owed.
If so come back at that time to the FAQ for advice on how to defend it, and if you need more advice start your own thread0 -

Is this about a private parking charge, or some other 'debt'?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
