Hello everyone ... I've received a letter from DRP chasing me for £160 as I haven't paid for a parking fine. The location was at the Bristol retail park, Winterstoke road. This is the second copy I have received! Does anyone know what the score is nowadays on not paying this bill? They have threatened the normal stuff ...court etc! Everyone I've spoken to in the past has always said don't pay fines when your on private land!! Is this the correct information? Do I ignore this or do I contact these guys??
By the way mine wasn't a ticket on the windscreen it was a fine in the post!
Please help!?!?
Cheers

Hi Simon, I am in the same predicament. DRP have now said this is the last letter and court action will be taken. Help from anybody would be great. Thanks Matt0

Post four of the Newbies Sticky will tell you all you need to know about DRP - and what to do!
Please don't hijack other people's threads as you will likely get overlooked!0 -

How much help do you need to ignore DRP, who have not said "court action will be taken" have they?
And certainly not by them!0 -

Please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then start your own thread if you need further help.
Please do not post on this thread as the advice here is for the original poster. You have hijacked someone else's thread and the person you have asked to help has done the same.
You both need your own threads where you will get expert, free, bespoke help. You will not get that on this thread which is old and littered with questions from people who have not read the NEWBIEs so do not know how to deal with this.I married my cousin. DRP just buy the debt and see if they can get money out of people. They will continually send letters asking for money and as enough people will just pay them they make money. In fact if you just ignore they don't/can't do anything, in their words:
"we will recommend to our client that they take court action against you" or
"the creditor's solicitor may start court action to recover what you owe"
Neither of these will ever happen because the creditor sold the debt precisely because they don't want to do this and would not be able to most of the time - it's just not cost effective for them.
You can safely ignore.
I would even go a step further. Parking Notices by private companies are completely unenforceable, I don't even bother buying a ticket (unless I feel that it's a reasonable charge). I would certainly NEVER pay a parking charge notice.0 -

Certainly ignore DRP, though it's unlikely they have "bought" your debt
More importantly these invoices can be enforced like any other unpaid invoice
PCCs do take court action against their debtors - increasingly so lately0 -

Where have you been all this time ????
The debt collectors in this scam industry cannot and do not buy debts
They maybe idiots but they are not that stupid.0 -

Incorrect and dangerous advice. Once you ignore DPR there is a very real chance it will go back to the original parking company who can and do start court action.
People should ignore DPR but not ignore any court papers which follow.0
