Ebay Buyer wants return for.....

I sold a £5 note on ebay with a unique serial number . The buyer has requested a refund after 17 days claiming it to be bought as a gift for a birthday present but it was a mistake and it now no longer required. Do they have a claim? Returns were stated as not accepted on the original listing.

No, not for change of mind. As long as you are a personal seller, not a buusiness. Also I can see a different fiver being sent back. Suggest he sells it on Ebay.
  • That's what I have already suggested. Thanks

Every genuine £5 printed should have a unique serial number!

Absolutely, and I suspect the buyer has just worked out that he has been a bit daft.

I can't believe people are spending a fortune on £5 notes. I have got a few in my wallet, not checked the serial numbers.

Out of interest, how much did he pay for £5.00 GBP?

  • Just south of £100 . £5 is £5 to me too

I blame this website for encouraging people. Expect to see 50ps and 20ps flooding Ebay due to this websites encouragement. Saying that if someone is stupid enough to pay £60 for a 20p piece then good luck to those selling

I think the buyer has got a bit of remorse here.
