You've got me worried about this now, I have just started using 1899 through an NTL line and access it through an 0808 number, I hope I'm not getting charged by NTL for these calls.0

If NTL/Telewest do start charging for these access numbers then it they'll probably just lose more customers by people switching to BT.
Remember, that its only BT that are under strict OfCOM restrictions and the likes of others like NTL/Telewest are not.0 -
If they are charging you use the alternative access no i gave earlier
0808 1 702 702 they want be on to this no yet!!!!!PF.0 -
According to the latest NTL tariff guide 0808 numbers are FREE

Last month I cancelled BT line. I have had both BT and ntl for some time. This month was the first ntl bill since then and I found i got charged for 42 unitemised calls. I concluded before seeing this thread that I had been charged for the 0808 number, but concluded it was a connection charge fron ntl in addition to the 3p charge from 1899.com.
Next month when ntl put their prices up , at the same time they are doing free local calls w/e and eve, so this will help!
Its a bit naughty, tho. When you signup with 1899 you assume the 0808 is free. I know its not 1899's fault . . .0 -

Call1899's connection charge of 3p would not show up on your NTL bill but your Call1899's bill only. I'd suggest double-checking your unitemised calls. Also, from next month, NTL are only doing free weekend (not evening) local (not national) calls for the £10.50 tariff.
I agree with your remarks. 0808 should be free, and the 3p charge of course is in the 1899 bill. I cant break down what my 42 unitemised calls are against, and I cant believe that in one month I would have made 42 calls in addition to those being routed through 1899!0
