Mine currently likes Aldi - their 'deluxe' type pouches, I believe they are higher meat content. She obviously likes these because I only go near Aldi once a week and even then have to make a rushed detour. Of course, if I were to bulk buy she would decide she didn't like them.

Tbh ours has always had what some consider 'junk' - Whiskas, Felix (incl As Good As...which she didn't like...now does), Coshida (which she did like...now doesn't) and so on. She gets raw meat if I'm cooking with it and treats (Dreamies addict). Tbh so long as she seems healthy and happy, I'm ok with what she eats.

Iams pouches did make her sick, as does Whiskas 'Simply' in gravy...which she loves...I however don't like clearing up regurgitated cat food.

Oh and she did like our old (no longer with us) mogs special renal diet food .... which he did not. :wall::wall::wall:

    Fab idea on freezing pouches.

We are slowly weaning Phoebe our kitten (6 months old now) off Whiskas dry and wet.

We have experimented with Lilys Kitchen (loved dry and will only eat wet if only food available) and going to try out Applaws.

Want to give her a good life as best we can, miss our old cat (feel awful I fed her the junk of whiskas) but we love them.

My tiny kitty is on raw food and loves it , some people prepare the raw themselves but I buy 1 kilo packs of pre made from kiezebrink, and portion it up.
It's economical as it's around £3. A kilo and they don't need to be given as much as shop bought pet food as it' doesn't have all the fillers and rubbish in it.
Adult cats depending on size would need only 100 to 150 grams a day.
I'm feeding mine as much as he want at the moment as he's a kitten 4.5 months and he averages at 125 grams .
His coat is super shiny and he has tiny non smelly poos! As a bonus. It also provides most of the water content a cat needs.:T
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.

When they hit a really fussy patch, this always hits the spot, although not cheap.

Fortunately, they're normally happy with Lidls.

Having watched My Parents struggle to meet the demands of their fussy duo , mine now eat what they are given , be it special offer from Carrefour, Lidls or a local Turkish brand , they seldom go hungry , though Flash (Van) , Is partial to baked beans (He sleeps outside )
  • I raw feed. It's faff as I make the cats meals myself - I do however add some Butchers Classic tinned for the gravy. Her Majesty prefers lamb hearts & turkey gizzards - both have to be processed quickly & are not so easy to source (without forward planning or getting up early before it's sold out!) however so the main meat is often chicken limbs - I have sneaked some pork or duck in but she's not v enthusiastic about eating those & again she has a preference for chicken liver over other animals. The calcium element is provided via crushed eggshells. When she turns her nose up @ a particulary serving of food I add more sardines/tuna in tom sauce or mix with Aldi's deluxe sachets & walk away. Obviously with a 15 year old if she walks off in the morning I reluctantly throw down a handful of biscuits so I know she's eaten whilst I'm at work - but I don't like it! I have no plans whatsoever to replace them when the bag has finished - now I know that all kibble is bad for her. She is using alot less litter now on 75% raw. If/when I get a kitten & am feeding two cats I will source & preorder offal to make their meals - there is usually nothing left in the bowl - it's the healthiest & cheapest way to feed. Sometimes when there's reluctance to eat I feed slippery elm bark gruel - this is a rarity however. I'm thinking of getting some Animondy Carni tins as emergency food - friends/family would not mix her raw meals & Butchers Classic quality is not what it used to be.
