SSE Anti Virus Software NOT Compatible with Windows 10

I have just changed-over from BT phone and Infinity 2 to SSE phone and ultrafast fibrebroadband on their 18 month contract on line rental and "free" calls 24/7 for £16 line rental, £5 call anytime package and "free" broadband (total £21 per month, was paying over £61 per month to BT for something similar which included features that I haven't used).
Included in the SSE 18 month package is free internet parental controls and Anti-Virus software supplied by NetIntelligence. The parental control software loaded OK. The AV software had to be downloaded from within the NetIntelligence control Panel web-site. However the AV software is not compatible with Windows 10 (confirmed by the SSE helpdesk) which is not good. It was one of the extras from BT that I was grateful for.
However the SSE helpdesk have credited my account with £30 (or at least she said she would - I haven't signed into my on-line account yet to check) to get my own AV software, which is helpful. I thought I would post this as a warning to others who have Windows 10 that SSE's AV is not compatible.
Time will tell whether the Broadband speed is any good in the evening.

You can get many perfectly good AV programs as freeware: Avast and Avira to name but 2. If you use Barclays online banking you can also get Kaspersky for free.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Windows 10 has built in AV software - Defender. It is fine to use.0
