Maybe try explaining to landlord that your guarantor has passed on (and sorry for your loss) and try and agree an overpayment plan to get you back on track. If he agrees and sees you sticking to it then it might stop further action.0

Hi. Yes the landlord knows about him passing away and how would I be able to find out if the deed was done correctly? Also does it matter that the guarantor hadn't signed for over a year?0

A Deed of Guarantee only needs to be executed once, it doesn't have to be re-done annually.
For it to be executed correctly it should have been signed and witnessed. The guarantor should also have been given a copy of the tenancy agreement prior to executing the deed.0 -

How often do you think they need to sign? Daily, Hourly?
It's signed once.
As do whether it was correct - I needs to be issued as a deed, witnessed and the guarantor needed to have a copy of the tenancy agreement0 -
Obviously we want to, we aren't in arrears by choice!
Perhaps a visit to the debt free wannabe forum may help.
Life is full of choices, the choice to buy xmas presents, the choice to buy a 100 inch plasma inch tv for example.
I know people who forgo xmas presents in order to pay the mortgage, a wise choice that will serve them well in the future.

How much rent is now owed? I think you should either:
a) speak to your grandmother about this
b) try reason with the landlord and see if he is happy to set up a payment plan.

Hey, sorry to see so many snarky comments about the fact that you're behind with rent. You've probably got the message by now that paying off rent debts / avoiding them in the first place should be a priority and that's a valuable thing to know .... but still the snide remarks keep coming from people who know nothing about your personal circumstances but are clearly excited by feeling momentarily superior.
Take the best and leave the rest .... glad you've got a whole load of sensible advice amidst the other stuff. Definitely talk to your landlord, don't feel intimidated, if you stay silent your landlord may assume you're burying your head in the sand or don't care about the debt.0 -

No ones mentioned this, but seems to me, if you got into arrears after your grandfather died, then there is no claim upon his estate as the agreement will have lapsed.0
