MOT and Window Wiper
Hi all
One of my wipers has a small tear of about 2cm which you can see when its wiping. The screen wipes fine though with no issued and no residue or anything left.
Would it be worth replacing before MOT? Garage is quoting me 30 quid for it but the blades seem fine.
Thanks
S

£30? For a wiper blade? Do it yourself, job done for under a fiver.0 -

Do you really need the MOT as a reason to do it?
http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/ or other online retailers, or your local car spares place, or even your local Halfords. A few quid, and about a minute of basic DIY to replace it. They go off surprisingly quickly - I replace mine annually.0 -
Would it be worth replacing before MOT?
Just bought a complete set of Bosch wipers for a Honda Civic, two front and one rear from http://www.wiperblades.co.uk/ for under £30, delivered in two days and fitted in 5 minutes.0 -
And replace the pair-not just one side.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

For what reason?0

I change the ones on our cars every couple of years, nothing worse than wipers which don't wipe properly, especially at this time of year.
With a tear I can't see how they can be very effective, they must be ancient.0 -

They're so cheap that they're practically free (DIY), stop being tight and change them all.
On a very serious note, a small smear that doesn't quite clean properly is more than big enough to hide a motorbike approaching as your about to take a right turn.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
