3 hours is absolutely taking the whatsit though.
What do you think about 4 1/2 hours? That's what 270 mins is!

I noticed this in several machine specs when I was looking at replacing our older Bosch. Thought I must have somehow misinterpreted it. In the end, I paid a couple of quid or so for new motor brushes, bunged them in, good as new. So far...

The very long wash times are so they can get the A++++++++ wash rating. No one actually uses those programmes.

I do. What's the rush? Use the timer so that it starts in the early hours, ready for when you wake up.

Yep, that's the conclusion I'd come to.

Grenage - yes, using the timer to do a long wash when you're asleep is an option. But even though this machine is reportedly very quiet, I'm wondering if the water being turned on and off might make enough noise to wake me up.
  • I have solar panels so in winter especially I choose a cycle which uses the lowest peak energy. I'm not so worried about how long it takes.

Or if they do, they use the handy 'Speedperfect' button to reduce the longer wash time.

How is a wife able to do a whites load and a coloureds load during her husband's working day? :rotfl:

We have a Siemans which I think is very similar to Bosch, which is a couple of years old. It has some tremendously long wash programmes, we just use the Easycare cycle for virtually everything - 40 degrees and 1200 spin, with a biological powder tablet (singular). This takes 97 minutes which is just 7 minutes longer than the same programme on the previous Bosch machine which had hot water fill.
