Another tip is if you wanna cuppa go to the bigger amusements, in one of the larger ones theres an upstairs cafe and if I remember tea/coffee 20p a cup or something like that. There was also one of the amusements offering a meal for a tenner and that was 2 adults and 2 children, that offer might still be available.
  • We love Blackpool and go every year, we always go self catering so we can come and go as we please, were there first week in September and stayed at the kingedwardapartments.com, excellent location very central, large car park, flats Good, basic and clean, all we need really as you are only in them to sleep mainly. Have a good time.
  • We stayed in the Strathmere Hotel, was nice and cozy with a lovely English breakfast! It's on Palatine Road or Reads avenue (one side of the road is palatine, the other is read). An easy walk into the centre, it also has a few car parking spaces outside.
Our children enjoyed the waterpark, but I can remember it being expensive.
There is a good shopping outlet too, we always call in there on the way home, I think it's called Freeport. Hope some of that helps!

    Blackpool is Brilliant!

As you are going outside school holiday times, I assume the kids are young.

Definately go for the wristbands at the pleasure beach - excellent value. The kids will love Beaver Creek, which is the kids section of the pleasure beach.

As has been suggested already, the Tower makes for a good day, especially when you consider that admission also includes admission to the Tower Circus.

As regards the hotel, The Travel Inn on Yeadon Way is ideally placed for the Pleasure Beach - approx. 5 minutes walk.

    Have a great time.
  • You will need a wristband now to get into the pleasure beach - you can no longer just walk in and pay as you go with rides. There are some websites where you can get buy one get one free on wristbands, or you could look on ebay.

Also lots of accomadation for Blackpool on Ebay - or look on Loot.com
  • Oh and make sure you wrap up can be very cold. My sister lives in Blackpool and we visit every few months and it can get really cold.

Eating out can be really cheap too - the amusement arcades do lots of family specials. But definately try searching the web for vouchers etc. I will scout round for you when i get a minute

Does this apply for adults accompanying a child with a wristband?

It doesn't apply at all. Anyone can enter the park without a wristband, if you want to take the kids on Beavercreek you obviously need to buy a wristband then, or at a ticket machine (minimum £10 - the greedy sods!)

Not strictly true, you can enter the park and dont have to buy any tickets or wristbands. If you want to buy individual ride tickets they are available from ticket booths and machines dotted around the park and there is no minimum transaction. We purchased 2 tickets for a ride in beaver creek. No wristbands needed although they do offer much better value for money. Pepsi Max and Infusion are 8 tickets each!

Tower is expensive (14ish adult) so best to find some discount vouchers on ebay.

Sandcastle is also expoensive £10ish? Pick up a leaflet from tourist info for 10% off

Zoo is good value at £12.95ish....

Loads of cheap places to eat.....

There's a "2 for 1" pub behind central pier, next to the odeon.
Am i here to save money or spend money......hmmmmm

I've always found the machines to be a minimum of £5, but when I rang up they said this is now £10. Amanda Thompson does not know when to stop. You might be right about the booths though, I hope so (if you only want to put one child on one ride, thats £10 please). She has recently tore down the skyline at Southport, shipped it up the M55, and then painted it blue. I love how they market Infusion as a brand new ride!

The Pleasure beach is still a fun place mind, just try extra hard to be savvy with your cash, as there is no stone unturned when it comes to extracting your cash, believe me.
