DD payment taken Thursday 24th
Gone bust 26th
Not voted as yet on this poll, will wait to see what transpires though, I guess....*** This Space For Rent ***0 -
For clarity I am in credit too (and cancelled the DD).
Why Ofgem and MSE are maintaining the 'DD shouldn't be cancelled' stance is strange IMHO.0 -

Especially if you don't have to pay bills by DD.0 -

Looks as if most (close to 75%) of ex customers who've responded (albeit a fairly small amount currently so far) agree as they too have cancelled their DDs.0 -
Martin Lewis was back on the radio today with the advice to do nothing, wait till you are contacted by new supplier. You will be on their standard tariff so get ready to switch and claim cashback..easy..all credits will be honoured .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I think that all anyone needs is clear unambiguous information.
The absence of which means that everyone will do their own thing based on what they think is best.
Mostly all I've seen is "we aim", "we hope", "we expect", "we'll try" and other woolly words which don't give anyone confidence that anyone really knows what's going on or going to happen.
A clearly defined process, with clear timescales and information up front for what should be done would make it so much easier for everyone.
It's said that planning for the worst and hoping for the best is far better than hoping it wont happen and running around like headless chickens when it does is a recipe for disaster.
That may not be the total situation here, but do any of us really feel confident that there's a properly formulated plan that's gone into action and we all know what to do and why.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
I cancelled the Direct Debits on Saturday.
I've been paying £27 and £34 a month for 18 months and have ended up £343 in debit on the electricity and £123 in credit on the gas.
So I'm more than happy to start with a clean slate with a new supplier.0 -

Assume you'll receive a payment demand from GB then (via its administrators) for the final net debt you owe them.0 -
I'm terrified.0
