Dang it EH - you've sussed me out!
Anyway....I know I'm late for the party but HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! Where has the time gone? It has absolutely flown by.
I did have a lovely Christmas and generally everyone behaved (except for the pup who ate my phone). All my contacts disappeared in 5 minutes as silly Smolly hadn't backed up her numbers had she? You know what? It was sheer bliss too. I did feel slightly sick when I saw my phone but I lived without it for a few days and there was no facebook or ebay, or emails pinging through in the night. And then all of a sudden all these people started offering me their old phones to use so I could get back on the social circuit. Damn!
First of all the OH gave me his old iPhone which needed charging up twice a day and was so old it wouldn't support facebook! Next bro sent me his old iPhone but after much faffing found it was locked and I couldn't do anything with it. Bro then went on a mission to sort that out but in the meantime a neice sent me her phone bless her. Tiny little thing with a tiny little memory and tiny little keypad not suitable for my 46 year old fingers - I sent some very random messages. :rotfl: Oh and it was only meant for a child too and as such couldn't download any apps at all. And needed charging up every few hours. Now my brother's iPhone is working again and I shall use it for a while until I can buy a new one that does what I need it to! I was however very grateful for everyone's contributions.
I have hung up my mystery shopping boots for the time being - mostly because I'm being a little bit choosy over what I do, in my new 'I value my time much more now that I've had a break and can see what having a rest does for me' mood. I've just done a half hour survey for £3.50 and am bored to tears and apart from going back to work this week it's the first thing I've done to earn any extra money.
I've astounded myself in how much decluttering I've done and am more surprised at how much I've enjoyed it. I still have loads to do but look forward each day to tackling a corner or a shelf and seeing just how much I can break it down. Nothing is safe! Even the OH is impressed and he very rarely is. We had been talking about an extension and he said just yesterday that he didn't see the point anymore - he didn't realise we had so much space available now I've had a clear out!:rotfl:
My local charity shop has benefited enormously but tonight I thought I would just check if a pile of books I had would be worth anything on musicmagpie. I hadn't had much look with the other site and for just three books I was offered something like £6 which I felt was quite good. Wish I'd checked all the other books I've already taken to the charity shop but hey ho - never mind. I still have a large pile to check and will do that this week.
Beginning to think the OH is up to something - started grooming his facial hair, getting regular hair cuts and buying new clothes. Keeps mentioning a woman at work and being nice to me. Think he's just having a midlife crisis actually rather than being naughty as he has just converted the spare bedroom (old eBay room) to a..... MAN CAVE. And yes this is what he is actually calling it. He has so far bought himself a desk, smart TV and 3 shelves. Exciting times. He is now talking about buying a drum kit....not so exciting (for me).
Anyway am going to post this before I lose it - a paragraph has just mysteriously disappeared and I swear I didn't press anything.....LBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

Just wanted to add that I haven't really set myself any resolutions or goals for 2017 (Misty I'm just using your list!:rotfl:) other than that I would try to be more positive and refrain from having negative thoughts.
I already thought I was fairly positive, despite the things that life can throw at me. I read a book however over Christmas and it made me realise that there are actually many, many times when negative thoughts do pop into my head - like when some pensioner drives at 10mph on the road and I start fuming and cursing under my breath, or when the OH starts snoring and I look at his pillow and wonder if....., and other such times like that - moments which come and pass very quickly but still have left a negative thought in my head. I'm trying very hard, to let these moments just pass over me, but I've been back at work two days and of course so has the CLL....so there you go. Resolution broken, and broken again. And will no doubt be broken again very very soon!:rotfl:

I think some degree of negative thinking is just human nature - I'm always slightly suspicious of the sort of person who reckons they're never negative - they're either congenital liars of their heads are completely empty, I suspect! :rotfl: Anyway, CLL is enough to drive one to negative thoughts. Well, it's that or drink, and the thoughts are cheaper!
LOVE your OH's reaction to your decluttering! That's just hilarious! Not so hilarious about the drum kit idea though...oh dear!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

How are things going, Smolly? Sorry I haven't been back sooner, things have been running at full steam here and it seems I've not had a minute to myself!
I hope OH is still treating you well and behaving in his man cave!0 -

I love this diary - hilarious, the tales of CLL! Also your man sounds like mine, asking me where I have 'hidden' such and such.

Hi all! I am alive!
Thank you all for checking up on me and welcome boxofpaws (lovely name!).
I will only be quick but will apologise for my loooooooong absence. I have been 'ok' but a little bit fragile at the same time. Mum's health has had some serious knocks and I feel as if I've been holding my breath for too long whilst we got some results back. The second set of results are more positive but a third set of tests are now required 'just to make sure'. We only got this news today and I do feel a lot more relaxed about the whole thing. The thing about me is I very rarely 'share' when I'm not in a good place. I find it very difficult and prefer to hide away.
On my own health, I have just been very tired, and with the dark mornings/nights, and cold windy wet weather I have just wanted to hibernate. However whilst hibernating I have decluttered like a mad woman and I am loving it. I have also found a new hobby - Instagram! Why did I not know about this? I thought you just edited photos on it but I have become addicted to reading about how other people are selling secondhand clothing like crazy on eBay. As a result it has inspired me to finally get up off my backside and start listing. I've listed about 8 items, all as buy it now since yesterday and 24 hours later I've sold two things!!! A good quote I saw on Instagram - IF YOU LIST IT, IT WILL SELL. Brilliant. I'm still not selling tat - all the cheap stuff is still going to the charity shops.
Anyway that's me done for tonight. I'm off to clean the hoover before bed....

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Brilliant!!!
Glad you're OK-ish - but sorry to hear your Mum's been going through it a bit. So tough on everyone, that situation. Hope the final set of tests come back with good news attached.
Instagram is ace - I use it a lot, it's rather taken over from Twitter for me! :T🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
