It's so nice to see you back - I was getting worried!
I hope your mum will be okay. It's so sad to see your parents get ill and grow older and frailer. I know it's all part of life but it's still heartbreaking.
Good for you with all your decluttering! It seems so daunting when you first start but doesn't it make a massive difference? My lovely house has become a bit of a mess since Xmas and I've been working quite a bit and not sorted it yet. I have a couple of days off coming up so may earmark them for another little declutter. I've never even thought about instagram for selling, but will def look into it!0 -
Great weight loss start Misty - well done x
Thank you EH and Misty. It has all been a bit of a worry. We're not out of the woods yet but things are looking more positive. For Mum though her glass is always half empty and despite the recent good news she can't see it yet herself.
I am feeling a bit carp today - I had a little accident at work and had to go to the doctors to be checked out. Ended up I was in shock and I have felt awful all afternoon - really 'heady' and vague. As such I have done no tidying up today and I have got myself into what seems like some fanatical routine where I clean the majority of my house everyday but it doesn't actually take me all that long as I am doing it so regularly. And here I am worrying that I haven't cleaned up! I just went downstairs to get a granny hot milk and saw rubbish on the counter left by OH and practically fainted!:rotfl:
Anyway my accident is too long winded to go into now but in the short - I ended up with a nasty burn to my hand which was a result of someone's negligence at work. 10 points to anyone who can guess who the idle, lazy, health and safety nightmare of a person was that caused said accident.... And best of all - she never even said sorry. Just looked at my hand and said 'it's ok'. I was dispatched to the doctors and before I could even tell the receptionist why I was there I'd been shovelled into a seat and the nurse fetched as I looked so 'out of it'.
On a positive note I've been inspired to up my eBay game as a result of Instagram and may even look into into selling on Amazon too in the future. Although I don't need anything to sell as I have enough already my body was aching for a charity shop fix and a half price sale sign persuaded me to go have a 'browse'. :DI did spend £20 - however I ended up with some very good labels including CoAsT, a long black Matrix style leather coat, and loads of pairs of brand new shoes and boots all in a size 7 which is a very good size to sell. There was even a brand new pair of LiPsY shoes, and a new pair of those soft Footglove shoes by Sparks. I walked out with 3 very large carrier bags and some free items because I'd spent 'so much'.
Anyway, despite my palpitations over not cleaning today, and my burnt hand, and my fury and despair over my best friend at work, I am starting slowly to feel the long awaited return of my mojo.:T
Hope everyone is ok and feeling well xxxLBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

OMG what did the CLL do to you? Was she disciplined at for her negligence or did she try to say it was an accident? What a horrible thing to happen.
I wish I was more obsessed with cleaning... the place is still looking a bit shabby after Xmas and I'm too busy focusing on other things to worry about it. Once we've had dinner, it tends to be "I'm done for the day" time and we all relax and enjoy the evening unless I'm out working.
I don't really understand how instagram selling works - are there special groups to join like on fb?
I hope both you and your mum are feeling better today xxx0 -
Hi Misty
I'm just at a loss really as to how the CLL continues to behave as she does, and gets away with it time and time again.
On this occasion she was only heating up soup for her lunch. She was in the staffroom and uses the hob to do it (the rest of us use the trusty microwaves we have) but the CLL likes to make as much mess as she can. She can't even wash up without causing a small pond at her feet. I walked in, saw her eating her lunch, saw the mess on the hob, started twitching, and noticed that she had left the spoon on the hob too - slightly placed under the pan. Just assumed that as she was eating she would have turned off the hob and the OCD in me kicked in and picked up the spoon to move it to the side. Didn't realise flames were licking the metal handled spoon (it's a large one too) and it just melded to my hand. I screamed, swore a very unhealthy word for a school environment and chucked it down. Rushed to the sink to run my hand under the cold water and immediately burst into tears. Boss came running to help. First aider came rushing in, and so did a load of others. CLL? Aah she's got her lunch to finish so just sat there slurping. Never once asked if I was ok. Just said later - 'let me see your hand - it's ok'.
Anyway I was sent off to the docs, confirmed I was in shock_pale_ and a report was put in. Yesterday I got a call off the boss of my boss's boss, to ask how I was and take some details and tell me that an investigation was starting right then. He is already aware of the CLL's part in this. Whilst he is looking into it I will remind him of a few other incidents and why I feel I can no longer work with this fool. There are loads more I haven't mentioned in this diary but it gets tiring after a while!!:rotfl:
Regarding Instagram Misty - I don't think there are actual selling pages. I'm just getting familiar with it myself. I am just for now following a few people who are proving to be very inspirational about selling on eBay and Amazon. They will post pics of the stuff they've bought from 'thrift' shops - most are American, and boy do they know how to shop. They will then 'flip' (get me with the lingo!:rotfl:) them for a profit on eBay or Amazon and post their results. I'm getting loads of advice from there - here's me thinking I knew how to sell on eBay but I have already learned so much more since I stumbled across it.
Anyway I must go - got me some more listing to do!! xxLBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

Your burned hand and CLL's involvement is truly unbelievable. I hope you are feeling better now, will there be a scar? I hope something is done about her and soon, she is such a liability. It wasn't so long ago that she nearly poured boiling hot water on someone else, was it?
I'll have to search on instagram for the things you are talking about. I know the pound/dollar exchange rate is really bad (for us) right now, are the people importing things from the US to sell here or are the people based in the US?
The fast sales are inspiring. I still have the pile of things I put away before Xmas to sell, it's on my ever-growing list of things to do. It has been nice not having to deal with going to the post office, wrapping, packing, waiting to see if the buyer liked what they bought, etc. I think once the things I have here are gone, I will look into other ways of making money that I actually enjoy or at least don't hate the way I do e£ay.
I hope you've had a good weekend xx0 -
Thanks Bob, box and Misty!
You made me laugh boxofpaws when I read your comment - I was thrown back to the 80's and had visions of Stu Francis saying 'ooh I could crush a grape'.:rotfl:
Anyway, tomorrow the boss's boss and their boss are coming in to start an investigation about the 'incident'. The CLL doesn't know this yet. My boss has put a very long report in as to how she has now had enough of this woman, and I've also put on my big girl's pants and put in a formal complaint of...oh I don't know.....nearly 6 pages long! I've mentioned all the other times when she has been a health and safety nightmare including the hot water and my colleague incident Misty. There may be a scar I'm not sure, but it's on my fingers and palm so might not be very noticeable. At the moment my hand looks like a wrinkled prune!!:rotfl:
We had our weekly staff meeting today. And as always, the CLL ended up shouting and talking over everyone. I just got up and walked away. There is absolutely no talking or reasoning with her.
We will see what tomorrow brings but first I have to get through my ordeal with the dentist. I absolutely hate dentists. I never used to, until I turned up for an appointment one day and there was a new dentist sat there. At first she seemed nice but she did not understand or empathise with my inability to give a standard x-ray. I cannot stand the plastic thing in my mouth. In fact, when they start stuffing cotton wool rolls in to absorb moisture I just start to gag.
She was awful and quite rude to me, and eventually she needed to take a tooth out. She put me in hospital the evil woman. The OH had to take me to a specialist dental hospital after my visit and I was treated with anaesthetic in the waiting area because I was in so much pain. I was then taken through to a back room and had minor surgery and lots of stitches. The dentist who saw me said I had been 'butchered', and hence my extreme anxiety over any trip to the dentist.
Fortunately my new dentist understands and every time I need a procedure they ask me 'have you taken your tablets today?' like I'm some old dear with a memory problem!! It never works though - I still end up coughing, spluttering, gasping for air and crying! I can't wait for tomorrow!!
Anyway am off to do some eBay and pop some more tablets!!:D
Take care everyone!! xxLBM Jul 16 £26,823.83, Nov 16 £27,961.98, Dec 16 £26,977.66, Jan 17 £26,884.76

Hope the dentists went OK Smolly - and also that events at work have unfolded as they ought. That woman is a flipping NIGHTMARE! One of the first rules of Health & safety is that you look out for the safety of others as well as yourself - her actions with that spoon ought to mean that at very best she ends up with a written warning - I'm guessing a serious break of the H&S policy in your environment though could be said to be gross misconduct so hopefully you may well be rid of her. Not in the least surprised you burst into tears - SUCH a shock - it sounds as though in the circumstances you were actually quite lucky! Good for you on the formal report too - that takes guts but for everyone else's sake it's the right thing to do.
Brilliant work on the selling thing too - I could see you making a full time living out of this!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
