© GB Energy Supply Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales. Company No: 08500842
Now I'm confused. Presumably I am still of customer of GB Energy Ltd and I will become a customer of Co-operative Energy Ltd 06993470 at some point in the future.
Or is Co-operative Energy Ltd merely going to keep GB Energy Ltd running permanently and has merely pumped some cash into the company in effect?
If GB Energy Ltd still exists I can't see any reason to switch away from them today, which is what I'm considering.0 -

If my experience is anything to go by, you'll get a meter reading request about a week before your quarterly billing date. i.e. I switched on 3-Sep, so my billing date is 3-Dec, and got a request on the 26-nov, which I've just supplied. I might try giving new readings in a couple of days if it will let me.0 -
I've just logged onto my GBE account as normal, downloaded some missing bills, verified my last DD has been received and entered meter readings, which have been accepted.
All working fine, well done Co-Op
Shame really, as my cap is ending Feb 2nd, I need to switch shortly to something to buffer me through the winter price rises, although Co-op festive fix is slightly cheaper, looks like NPower reducing fix (till Oct 2018) is best for meI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

So are co-operative energy going to apply the £140 warm home discount to the core group customers the government paid GB Energy for?0

Can anyone who has been an GB Energy customer for some time confirm their billing arrangements??
Before the debacle last weekend & about 2 weeks ago when I asked ths question I was told I would receive an email with a monthly energy usage statement?0 -
Just had an email update fro Co-op saying as from 5th December they will be collecting my Direct Debit and I can submits meter readings online again. There are some updated bills on there too. they seem to be sorting this out quickly0

Just switched away to go to Robin Hood Energy. They've said the switch will complete on 22 December.0

I've been with them for 6 months on a fixed tariff - and they appear to operate a quarterly billing cycle. But that may be because I only provide readings quarterly. If you provide monthly readings then they may provide a bill to the same timeframe?
Their website / welcome pack etc ......... are all wonderfully vague on the subject. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Just switched away to go to Robin Hood Energy.
Do I take it you were on a variable tariff with GB Energy? If not - why would you switch?
I had a curious look around on Sat night when I read about the problem - and Robin Hood (Green) was the cheapest tariff at about 15% more than I'm currently paying. But it was 'variable' - so I looked directly on the Robin Hood site to find the comparison site was out of date and the real hike in premiums was just over 25%.
So I'm more than pleased that the resolution has been better than anyone could reasonably have predicted. And I don't have to start switching tariffs mid-Winter - when you're always likely to get a poor deal.sheff6107 wrote:Or is Co-operative Energy Ltd merely going to keep GB Energy Ltd running permanently and has merely pumped some cash into the company in effect?
The underlying detail is between Ofgem / Co-Op and the GB Energy liquidator? I don't think you will get better than the quote on the website :I am pleased to be able to inform you that Co-operative Energy has reached an agreement with GB Energy and Ofgem to take over responsibility for your account, with effect from 30 November and can reassure you that you will have continuity
of service
........ it was clear from the outset (both Ofgem and the initial note from Co-Op) that they were going to resume through the GB Energy system. It would have taken weeks, if not months, to resume trading otherwise. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

It does appear that payments received from Sat onwards haven't been applied to accounts. I had a DD leave early hours of Monday and that's not been credited yet.
Taking over the system / staff etc is one thing - but I did expect the money side to take a little longer. I'm sure the liquidator will happily give access to the fixed assets and people - but the bank account(s) will take longer to resolve, so I won't be fretting for a while. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
