My mum has this phone which is great at blocking the umpteen cold callers.
She's had it about 8-10 months and the answerphone has suddenly stopped functioning. The phone rings out and then a high pitched screech comes on, no recorded "please leave your messsge" and no ability to leave a message.
I've checked all the settings and everything is switched on OK, nothing changed from previously.
Is appreciate any help with this is anyone has come across it before.
Thanks

8-10 months = find receipt and return it.0

I'd rather see if it can be 'fixed'. Or at least find out what the problem is.0 -

I think anyone with any common sense would have already tried this before coming to an internet forum?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thanks. As I said, all the settings are correct. The greeting message (which is there) doesn't happen, just the loud high pitched screech.0 -

Nope, Ive had people complain of no sound and after talking them through all the mute and volume options to be told nope none are muted.
Then get a view of their screen and see the speaker icon near the clock with an obvious mute sign....
OP has not mentioned the choice of built in message and user recorded message. You can choose from either with that handset.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
It's the built in / default message which is selected, but it doesn't click in, after the rings stop a high pitcher squeal starts and goes on.0

What happens when you switch to your own recorded message?
Is the squeal from the handset or the base unit? If you phone and leave a message whilst your there can you hear your message being recorded?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Haven't tried a personalised message. It's my mum's phone and I'm now 100 miles away.
The squeal is only over the line via the handset, not heard from base unit.
A voicemail can't be left and there is no prompt to do so, just the noise.0 -
Last time i had a problem i did the reset and setup again .0
