Hotel near Uni of Essex Loughton campus

Hi! Not a holiday as such - my DD needs to be at University of Essex Loughton campus early in the morning, and it looks like she'll need to stay over the night before to make the travel practical. She's looking for a hotel - Premier Inn type - that would be within about half a hour by public transport in the morning to Debden tube station.

Can anyone recommend a good place to start looking? We don't know the area at all.

There's a Premier Inn at Buckhurst Hill, that's about 10 mins (downhill) walk to the tube, then only 2 stops to Debden. There's also a bus (No,20) from just outside the hotel.

Or there's a Travelodge in Chigwell, it's about 10-15 mins walk (no buses along that road) to the nearest tube which is Chigwell, but she'd have to change at Woodford. Or Woodford station it's a 15-20 min walk or there is a bus a few mins up the road. From Woodford it's straight through to Debden.

Both hotels have reasonably priced restaurants attached and both are in nice, safe areas.

The campus isn't really visible from the road, it's kind of set back along a little slip road thingy, not to be confused with the shiny new FE College on the corner!

    Yes, definitley best.

If she decides to get the bus it's London buses so they don't take cash, she'll need an oyster or contactless card. If she has neither tube will be the best bet, she can buy a paper ticket at the station.

If there's anything else you need to know about the area just shout.

Plenty of options in the Stratford area-then just a few stops east on the Central line. About a twenty minute ride.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
