Middle names on forms - Does it matter?

We are quite far down the line in a property sale and purchase, and I have just realised my name on all the documents doesn't include my middle name.

The 2 pieces of ID, my driving licence and bank statement, both don't have my middle name on so my solicitors have obviously assumed I don't have one.
If I had used my council tax bill and passport, they would both have it on!

So really my question is, does it matter if my middle name isn't on the forms? If I wanted to add it, I will need to change my driving licence and get a new mortgage offer (as that is with my bank and so doesn't have my middle name), which is a lot of hassle and extra complications this late in the day!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

  • I don't think it matters as long as the solicitor and lender accepts the documentation you have provided.

I would advise your solicitor of your full name so this can go on the Land Registry transfer documents, which is the really important thing.

I had a similar problem in that my mortgage offer was in my married name, but everything else (including my ID) was in my maiden name. I asked my solicitor if they could put my maiden name on the land registry documents as I don't used my married name for anything else and they said they couldn't unless I asked my lender to re-issue the mortgage offer in my maiden name so I left it as it was as I didn't want to delay matters.
