They say they can send me out an engineer in 3 weeks and I arrange to take the morning off cos he'll be with me by 12 noon they say.

At 1pm I go to work and at 1:30 he pops a card through the door to say he'll be charging me for this visit because I wasn't in.

Had similar to this just last week. My G/F aunt moved houses (she moved to the house next door) Virgin came round and turned off TV and phones and said they would come back on Tuesday to put them in the new house. Nobody appeared. We rang and were told (after a long wait and being bounced round to 6 different departments because we are ex NTL and this is a virgin number (so why tell us to ring that number !!!!!!)) that someone will be out on Friday but they would ring back in 30 minutes to confirm. No call so we rang them they said yes that's fine they will be there Friday but not tomorrow oh no that would make sense. Next bloody Friday !

We explained that was no good as the phone connects to the string that she has to pull if she has a fall and she's already waited 6 days but because of their mistake she has to wait another week. Told nothing they can do. We complain more and demand a supervisor or manager or someone with some authority. Told there is nobody in the building however he said because it is there fault they will they will not charge for the period she doesn't have a phone. Did they really think we would pay for when she doesn't have a phone !!?!?! Eventually speak to someone who tells us the same but says they will ring technician and try and get in early, says he will ring back in 2 hours. 4 hours later we ring back and speak to a nice lady from England (first of the day I believe) she says someone will get back today with more info. I'll find out tonight if they bothered.

Don't they are pain the bum. My husband spoke to numerous people and they all agreed that we could have broadband , house phone and two mobile sims for £30 a month. Waited months for a sim to come for me. When I did get it they back tracked and said no you can't have it. Even though they had said.

So I cancelled my sim and then they cancelled my husbands sim. And now they keep saying that they can't take a direct debit. Reason being is they are getting confused about what sims we have.

And then there staff breached Data Protection by talking to my husband about the account and e-mail passwords even when he was not on the account or had a password.

I'm afraid I seem to be the only one that's not had problems - I did have a problem setting up broadband as someone on their end hadn't spelt my last name correctly, but it;s really unusual and I don;t think 90% of people do get it right - Pratchett Fans it's Susan's last name, my ex hubby was a pratchett fan. But it was sorted out same day and the guy was really apologetic.

Guess I was lucky! So if anyone does sign up, let me know and we can both cash in!
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Well done GP - still, you were never one to shy away from 'controversy'. :rolleyes2  :rolleyes2
Cheers mate - don't let us stop you from contributing towards 'Richard's' millions. :rotfl:

Rog, the fact that I'm helping to make a billionaire just a little bit richer makes my day mate, it really does. Takes away the pain of having to get out of bed each morning, knowing I'm helping him. I love him.

That was sarcasm by the way.

I'm off now to think of another controversial subject.

This just reminded me. The last time I had a late bill I recieved an automated call to tell me my bill was late. The message that was left said: "This is a call for Joanne ******* regarding your outstanding virgin media bill. If you could please give us a call back on ********** and quote your account number, ************ we will be happy to help you."

So my account number being given out over the phone by a machine?!! Who's to say I might not have been away for the weekend and had someone house sitting? Or I had guests in, or family? Thinking about it, I should have made a complaint at the time!
