Cruise deals

Found a black friday deal for eight night cruise where first passenger pays full price and second goes half price total cost £3685. Our friends booked same cruise in September without any deals and paid £2700. How can that be.

different cabin grade? fares increased since September? sale in September? fly-cruise with flights now more expensive?0

For the same reason holidays, flights, hotel prices change all the time.0

Cruise companies use 'fluid pricing' just as airlines and hotels do.
If your cabins are the same grade your friends have subsidised your lower fare.0 -
Cruise prices are exceptionally inconsistent. It's also the kind of holiday you can haggle for - an easily knock 10-20% off the price if you phone a few different firms.0

I did too...I saw it as a query about how could a "sale price" be higher than a non-discounted price was 2 months ago.0

Easy, Black Friday is not what people assume it to be. There are so good deals to be be had, but it's not always the best deal of the year. I've booked a cruise some months ago and out of curiosity, looked at what was on offer with Black Friday (as considering booking another one later next year) and indeed, I got a much better deal, which I assume is because I booked much earlier, and believe that there will still be better offers for the later one I was considering.0

Cruise prices vary- all the time. It's a toss up whether you will pay more for a late-ish deal than you would when the brochure was launched! The best thing to do is to work out what you think is a reasonable price per day and go from there.
Generally the very best deals are for cruises leaving within the next week as the ship is sailing anyway- better to sail with a ship full & hope the guests run up large bar bills!!
Always , always book with an agent (preferably a cruise specialist) as they will be able to discount a bit. Sadly not the 10-20% mentioned in an earlier posting. Well, I've never been that lucky, not in recent years since the agents all got new contracts!!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
