Flat roof - good job or not ?

We had a major leak in our bedroom which after 4 months or haggling with the house insurance was sorted by paying for the repairs inside as long as we paid for the repairs outside...it was a flat roof.
We used checkatrade.com and found a local roofer who over two days fitted a new flat roof with I think EPDM. He says its guaranteed for at least 20 years. Anyway we have attracted , we think, I squirrel who ay be trying too bury his nuts on the new roof.
I've setup a webcam tonight to see what exactly is waking us up at 5am in the morning but in the meantime took some pictures of the new roof which I have never seen ( I'm afraid of heights ).
Is there anyone based on the simple pictures I have taken could tell me whether the job looks ok ...happy to take more detailed pictures if I can

Sounds wrong - if your insurance covers you for this, then they should pay for the cost of the whole repair.

( I'm afraid of heights ). How did you set up a webcam and take pictures if you're afraid of heights ?

Ish. But just trying to make sense of your post. "took some pictures of the new roof which I have never seen", this sounds very odd - how did you take pictures if you've never seen it ?
All that aside, if you can put some pictures up we can have a look, and hopefully offer some advice.0 -
Fair, enough..lack of communication on my part. As I was afraid of heights I never saw the finished roof, just relied on their reputation and honesty. When the possible squirrel started a few days ago I realised that the night vision webcam I had bought last week could not only be used to see what is coming on the roof at night but also take some day pictures of the roof by attaching to a large pole !!
I was going to attach some pics but it says as I am a newbie I cant.. not sure how to do that but I'll try ..the address is 's1183.photobucket.com/user/tempshare/library/Roof'0 -

I've never heard of a squirrel that tried to bury nuts up on someones roof, do you think you may have encouraged it when you picked your name.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Hmm, seems ok here.
I'm no expert, but funnily enough I have laid an EPDM roof before. The biggest risk of failure is any joints in the sheets of EPDM not being overlapped correctly, any flashing or detailing around things like waste pipes etc. and where it meets the house.
Can't see much detailing in the photos provided but I'd be a little concerned about the pooling of the water. There should be a sufficient fall for the water to run off into the gutter. If anything it looks like there could be dips but it's really hard to tell from the photos.0 -
I also would query the pooling water. It should have been built with accurate small falls to avoid that.
And squirrels burying nuts? Aren't the noises just birds pecking or scratching? It's a nice new rubbery surface for them to play with.0 -
As above you shouldn't have all that water laying on thereI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
