PPP are in a bit of a mess. I have been "temporily suspended" until last August and cannot contact them to get the suspension lifted. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Hopefully you not including yourself.....Here is an example of you giving advice (pay up asap) to someone with a council penalty, after they had been similarly advised to take it to the pepipoo experts.
See #2, your advice (#6) and the outcome (#9):-

(And don't you think CM has enough on her plate here with private parking problems?)
On the face of it, the OP failed to update the details on her V5 which she/he is required to do when there are significant changes.
I didn't see (and I still don't) that using solely that argument were good grounds to appeal hence the advice. But as they say; you can't win em all. Maybe the PCN itself was incorrect?
Have you any other examples?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

The point is that there are more than one way to skin a cat. As you say - "maybe the PCN was incorrect" - in fact the pepipoo experts came up with another angle altogether
(You see that here over differing views on how to tackle individual parking charges)
Suggesting people should take their "proper" council tickets to pepipoo ensures that they get the full benefit of the experts over there.
In fact your advice in that thread to pay up asap fortunately came after the poster had been advised about pepipoo.
After he was successful he did update his thread here, where he was concerned that some advice given saying pay up could have come from a troll from the council giving authoritative advice.
And of course you tell people they need "always" get proper legal advice rather than rely on anything you say! (An unnecessary message as we are all told on every page of the forum to "exercise caution", but there are many many people who are helped in this forum by other posters, and who do not go and get professional advice!)0 -

I give advice based on the information provided by the OP. In the example you kindly provided, the OP had not informed the DVLA of a change of address in respect of his/her V5, something which you are required to do (if you own a car, you will know this). Ignorance of the relevant legislation is not a defence hence the advice given. I can only think that the OP provided Pepipoo with additional facts and no doubt uploaded images of the PCN to which they possibly found a flaw in. Yes, a good result for the OP. But I doubt even Pepipoo have a 100% success rate.
The title of this forum clearly indicates that both private and local authority issued parking tickets are dealt with. While that remains the case, I will continue to express my opinion to those who come here for advice.
Thanks for your contribution and your points have been noted.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
No reason why you shouldn't! (But why bother posting then telling us your "guidance" posts need to be taken with salt, and we should seek face to face proper legal advice?)The title of this forum clearly indicates that both private and local authority issued parking tickets are dealt with. .
Also no reason why others shouldn't continue to point victims of council tickets elsewhere for the "best advice", as despite what you say there is no mention of this forum being "clearly" for local authority issued tickets!0 -

My! You really have got a bee in your bonnet, havn't you?
My 'signature' simply means to get any advice on here confirmed because there is no way of anyone knowing that any advice given on any forum by any member is going to be qualified or not. I think my signature therefore is 'sound advice'.Also no reason why others shouldn't continue to point victims of council tickets elsewhere for the "best advice", as despite what you say there is no mention of this forum being "clearly" for local authority issued tickets!
Well seeing as only a statutory body or local authority can issue fines or penalties, I would suggest that by using the word "fines" in the forum title, means that people can ask about 'proper' PCNs as well as the speculated invoice ones.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
The word "fine" is of course hardly the differentiation between proper tickets and private charges.....seeing as only a statutory body or local authority can issue fines or penalties, I would suggest that by using the word "fines" in the forum title, means that people can ask about 'proper' PCNs as well as the speculated invoice ones.
Everyone has seen misuse of the word fine here!
You clearly know the correct use of that word, but it would be wrong to say it only is used here to refer to proper fines!
There is though very "clearly" good reason to advise anyone coming to this thread for advice on a fine to take it elsewhere for the best advice! (As the OP discovered in that thread you advised him to pay up ASAP!)0
