Corgi boiler replacement cover?
Our boiler decided to stop working on Sunday 20th November. After some chasing we eventually got an engineer out to us who (to cut a long story short) said that he recommends we need a new boiler as the pipes are corroded. He said he can order a couple of parts to get it up & running for us just now but it may not last long.
We have replacement boiler cover with Corgi which we have been paying for years. After calling Corgi to discuss this they say that because the engineer can fix it we aren't intilted to a new boiler even though the engineer recommends we need a new one. It seems they are just copping out. Why pay for replacement cover if they aren't going to pay out & give us a new boiler?
Any advice would be great! My Wife emailed a complaint to their customer service email and also via their Facebook page.
Is there anything we can do?
Kind thanks

If you get nowhere with them then as it's an insurance policy complain to the ombudsmanEx forum ambassador

Corgi was replaced by Gas Safe, but now there's an insurance scheme calling itself Corgi.
For future reference, you're better off getting a local installer who'll supply and fit your new boiler and offer you a more comprehensive and cheaper annual service plan than Corgi.0 -
I know that this is an old thread but we have just had a terrible experience with Corgi. How is it possible that this company is still in business? Our pump stopped working during the coldest winter spell in February. An engineer came out on a Friday, looked at the boiler which is a Worcester and is 10 years old and immediately said that we had 'dirty water' and had to replace the boiler. He then left without doing anything. Within a few days we received a quote from him for a new boiler!! We had to quickly find another engineer to come in and replace the pump. Being over a weekend, clearly the costs were very high. The pump was replaced and we were warm again. We wrote to Corgi about the experience and the attitude of the engineer. The fact that we have had this cover with them for over 10 years did not seem to matter. We supplied with them a video and photos of our pump as evidence and still they refuse to refund us even one penny of what we had to pay to repair the system. I have never been so disgusted with a company and I hope that people sit up and take notice and do not renew their contracts to buy one from them ever. I am fuming and have no idea what to do with regard to this issue. They treat their customers despicably. Are we all philanthropists paying them money every month to keep a useless business running/0
