Firestick Power Issues

We have an Amazon Firestick To start with - it seemed to be fine But now - it appears that the TV USB port is not man-enough to power it - giving an error message " "Overcurrent error on usb device occured. Not true, all fire sticks come with a power supply/adaptor plug. Look again.
