BT Faster Broadband - Any Offers??

We're connected to a fibre enabled cabinet, but it's nearly a mile away and so we don't get 'infinity' speeds.

As such, BT won't let me sign up for any of the BT Infinity offers and automatically moves my application across to 'BT Faster Broadband' (see * below for their definition of what this is).

The problem with this is that their 'Infinity' deals don't apply to 'Faster Broadband', even though it is effectively a lower speed version of their fibre connection - for a standard 12 month unlimited contract with no extras they want me to pay £38.99 pm, with £59.99 upfront costs and a £50 BT Reward Card. Not very good value at all compared to the far cheaper Infinity deals currently being widely advertised, including in the MSE Weekly email.

If I try and go through the 'standard' BT Broadband route, I can, and I can get access to the offers there, but at the end, the download speed I'm being offered is only 1Mb - 6Mb, compared to the 'Faster Broadband' which gives me a 9Mb - 15Mb estimated download speed.

It therefore seems that there is something of a hole in their offers, with nothing significant available for their 'Faster Broadband' - unless anyone knows where I can access a decent discount!!??

Calc

* BT describe their Faster Broadband:

Unlimited Faster Broadband is an internet connection delivered over fibre optic from the exchange to your local cabinet (the green box on the street) and then a copper wire from the cabinet to your home. This is the same technology used for our BT Infinity service, except the estimated download speeds for Unlimited Faster Broadband are between 2Mb and 15Mb.

The reason it's slower than Infinity is usually due to the length of the copper line from the cabinet to your home, but we'll always make sure you get the highest possible speeds your line can support.

Faster broadband uses the exact same equipment and technology as Infinity but for marketing purposes, Infinity isn't offered to anyone who can expect less than 15meg.

As far as I know, the price is the price. I have no clue why it's more expensive than Infinity as it is nothing different.

Thanks for the response, but sadly, the price isn't the price! I can get most of the way through an Infinity application, but towards the end, when it asks for phone numbers and confirmation you are the account holder etc, it then throws a wobbly and says:
Sorry, BT Infinity isn't available in your area, but you can still get fibre-optic broadband.

Just choose our Unlimited Faster Broadband package below – it uses our fibre-optic technology to give you the fastest possible speed.

But it then only offers two standard Broadband packages (12GB or unlimited usage) and won't allow me to select any of the TV etc options because my estimated speed is 2.5Mb to 6.5Mb with a guaranteed minimum of 1Mb!!!!!

It doesn't offer any 'Faster Broadband Options'.

    If I go through the:
Check which TV & Broadband packages you can get

at the start of the process, it gives me the faster speeds, and access to a 'Faster Broadband' package - but at basically full price of £39 pm!!!
