The premium rate 0845 number will be out of date. If it isn't, avoid this company.
You need a company that offers an 0800 or 0808 number for breakdowns so you can call from a landline or mobile even if your credit has run out.
Second best, use a company that offers an inclusive 01,02 or 03 number.
Absolutely avoid companies that use premium rate 084 or 087 numbers.0 -

I didn't actually call any of the big boys. I was searching online for info and Green Flag was the only one to have a helpful FAQ which is where I obtained the information. By which time, having also contacted a couple of nearby garages and not getting anywhere, we concluded a mobile mechanic would be the best option so didn't bother with the others.
The MM was excellent, turned up exactly when promised and solved the problem within half an hour so my friend was swiftly on her way again.0 -

Dont forget that it may have cost more for breakdown cover but that would have been for a full year not a one off call out.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Not entirely sure until I next speak with her.0 -

Maybe that would be a valid consideration for other people in a similar predicament but she's never in the country long enough to warrant paying for annual cover.0 -
Some policies cover the individual not the Car / Driver.
So if I am in a car and it breaks down it does not matter that it's not my car / me driving. The cover is on ME.
I have recovered a friends car for free in this way.0 -

I know. I have RAC personal cover for any vehicle but unfortunately was too far away to be able to go to her rescue.0
