ATM withdrawal not mine

I reported the card as lost a few days later. As soon as I noticed that it had been lost. Obviously the transactions had happened during that period.
I have no reason to really use the card, I had withdrawn money on the day that I believe it was lost for the weekend. I had been on a night out when it was lost.
I have a travelcard so did not have any need to access my card for a couple of days afterwards.0 -

The OP is glossing over the PIN factor...........
Funny that.0 -
Can't comment on the pin aspect but I wonder how much damage can be done by losing a contactless card and not realising for a couple of days, even hours.0

If the card is stolen and then used for contactless transactions you should be OK as the bank will reimburse them. If, however, the PIN was used they are unlikely to do so as it is highly unlikely anyone can get hold of both card and PIN unless you have written it down.0 -

Maximum contactless is £30. Banks do random pin checks when using contactless, i've had this a few times.0 -

I don't know what the final figure was but:in 1/2 hour over £200 was removed from 3 cards. As I had thought it was 3 times max of £30 but it's was 5 times with Abbey 7 times with Lloyds and Barclay as many times in a day as long as no more than £30 per transaction.0 -
Blimey that must have been a while ago, Abbey (if it is the institution I am thinking of) was taken over by Santander some years ago.0

The Abbey name seems to have finally disappeared in 2010, and as the contactless limit was only raised to £30 in 2015 something seems amiss with Shaun's quote.0 -

I can't see anything amiss with the quote. I occasionally still refer to HSBC as Midland. It's perfectly possible the person Shaun is quoting still refers to Abbey.0
