Hello,
I have just opened my bank statement and noticed a couple of transactions from two months ago that I did not authorise.
It was done via chip and pin, I did lose my card.
I have reported it to the bank and police, but was wondering what the likelyhood of anything actually happening would be?
Or shall i just accept it was a silly mistake on my behalf not to check my statement more often to spot this.

Surely if you had lost your card and reported it to the bank it would be quite easy for them to see it isn't you?
The bigger question may be how the user managed to use your PIN.
Did you keep your PIN written down with your card? Does anyone know your PIN?0 -
Dear OP, what a worrying situation this must be for you, I truly hope a positive resolution in your favor for this matter.

I'm guessing his PIN is 2341...0

Why have you just noticed it ?
Do you not view your statements online ?0 -
The important thing you haven't said is when you told the bank that the card was lost. It it was before the card was used, you have a good case. If it was after, then you may have difficulty getting the money back.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
On what date did you lose your card and on what date did you report the loss to your bank?
If you don't reply this is a windup. And no cheating! You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

I once picked up a stranger's phone (we had just met in the course of business).
I tried 5555 as the pin.
Amazingly, it worked.
More amazingly, she was surprised that I had "hacked" into her phone. I did mention it wasn't perhaps the best pin ever.
Erm... that's it.0 -
I once "hacked" into someone's phone by looking at the smears on the screen and guessing the swipe code.0
