aah, I understand. They did grind out the wall and put flashing in but it only sits on the roof and doesn't bend up onto the wall. Should it be bending up on the wall too?
Here is a closer up pic of the flashing:0 -

Oh I understand what you mean, so I take it they should have cut the line higher up and put the flashing higher up....0

as long as they ground out the wall, put the flashing in and sealed it (looks like black roofing sealant) it should be fine. You normally go a course up the roof to avoid water splashing or being wind driven up on to the brick.0 -
My last house was similar to yours with the same flat porch. It was hopeless, over the years i had it refelted a couple of times. In the end we did the same as you and put a pitched roof one. I did it myself. I did both my house and the one next door, 'cos it was all one roof. 'Cos i did all the work, the people next door paid for all the materials.
I think that's £550 well spent, whenever you come to sell it will be a plus.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

They definitely ground out as there is brick dust everywhere, and im pretty sure the flashing is lead. I can also see tubes of sealant in the bin so pretty sure they used that.
Not sure if I should raise it with him0 -

I wouldn't, its a tidy job, and matches the neighbor, only time it could be an issue is if we get a lot of snow, it'll sit against the brick, but even then its not a big deal in the UK.0 -
it will start leaking otherwise, and back to square one..
he might say it ok because there a flat roof underneath but it doesn't matter.
good price tho and otherwise, looks a good job.“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

It wont start leaking.
It has a flashing, the only issue would be with water bouncing off the roof onto the bricks above (not too much of an issue due to the pitch of the roof), water being driven up the roof by wind (not a big issue due to the short length of the roof) or snow accumulation (not a massive issue even when it happens which isnt very often)0 -
maybe ask you neighbour if hes had any leaks?
this blokes gone a bit high?“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”
