I had to set one up recently, the slimline one Argos sell and its virtually empty.

No fans because the CPU doesnt produce much heat which maybe a bonus.

But its SOOOOooo slow.. And im using a 10 year old computer with a similar spec.

It got worse after the windows 10 update also.

I didnt install any extra AV or firewall because it would have dragged it down to a crawl.

Open a browser and check your phone for messages whilst you wait for the cursor to become active.

In theory it should be fine, but something strangles it? I didnt investigate.

Installed classic shell and a few other bits and pieces like the printer etc and left it at that.

Oh and the one they had didnt have speakers.. None in the monitor either.. check..

I've used an almost identical machine to the one the OP bought and it was quick and responsive. I have less powerful Atom machines with 2GB memory also running Windows 8 and Windows 10 without issue. Windows 8 onwards is more efficient with hardware and if a 2.4Ghz Celeron with 4GB ram is having performance issues then I'd assume there's something wrong with the machine as it's not normal. For £100 I think it's a decent deal for a new machine and I've specced similar machines for friends with no performance issues.
