Stopped for speeding and argued with Officer at road side...

Driving down an A road minding my own stuff, trotting along at about 35-38 mph, Police Van from a mile behind came up and invited me to pull over. We both got out, he asked if I knew what speed I was doing. To which I replied with "Oh about 36 ish..."
He replied with "You were doing well over 40 mate, we were doing 45 to catch you..."

"Oh" I replied, "How did you catch me travelling at 45 if you say I was doing well over 40"

He looked at his side kick, who shrugged his shoulders and agreed with me. Gave me a ticket "because I didn't indicate" and off he went!

AFAIK you only have to indicate if there is someone who will benefit from it. You might think about conrtesting it.

Or the OP could have kept his mouth shut, said sorry officer and that would have been it

If your stupid enough to act the smart !!!! when you've been caught speeding (which i bet you were even if you didnt know) you deserve what you get

I don't agree, you don't know, what would have happened, most likely the cop would have given him a speeding ticket which is worse than what he ended up with. His quick mind saved him from getting a speeding ticket.

    Actually no

First of all the cops only give a speeding ticket if they've caught you on a calebrate camera

If they had he'd have got the ticket

Normally if they catch you speeding but no cam they pull you over and give you a ticking off

If you look sincere and apologetic they let you go
If you get wide any reason they can find will get you a ticket

    I know from experience

You are still making this up and presenting it as fact!

Well put it this way look sincere and apologetic is far less likely to get a joke ticket than deliberatly trying to be a !!!!

Admitting to and apologising for an offence that you haven't committed is a daft idea.
