When I refer to my house, I refer to the house I live in. My girlfriends father has a disabled parking space for his car, so he has no issues parking.

If I had an issue with the parking situation, I'd do as I said.

Really? Or is it for any badge holder.
I believe they are advisory, by the way, and infringement is unenforceable?

I have no idea, it's not my space so I've no need to know the details. All I know is it's directly outside "my" house and his car is always in it. :)

On the (tangential) subject of age ... when I was a kid there was this "old" guy (aged about 80) who used to walk around pulling a trolley/barrow. He used to collect bits of wood to provide fuel for fires* for the "old people" - most of whom were younger than him. :)

On re-reading - it sounds like he was creating funeral pyres! :D (He wasn't - this was fuel for fireplaces).

I think it's a bit disingenuous you going on about not having an issue with others parking on your street and in front of your house when the reality is quite different and you don't really have a valid argument anyway. In fact I bet the reason you have no complaint is that you probably parking in front of the neighbouring properties yourself anyway.

I did mention earlier about if posters were being truthful, maybe when you own your own property one day we'll have this discussion again.

How would ownership of the house make any difference? I'd still park on the same street, trying to get as close to "where I live/my house" as possible and others would still want to park there to walk into town.

And yes, I do park infront of someones house if there is no space outside the front of "where I live/my house". There is no parking other than in front of houses.

I am living in Edinburgh at university and have my car here two days a week. I cannot park it at my flat between half 8 and half 5 due to not having a permit and as a result move it to a housing area next to my uni that has no parking restrictions what so ever.
Why do you think restrictions were introduced where you live? The restrictions have pushed the problem onto the housing area. Any reason you cannot get a permit?

I'd report it to the non emergency line just in case this escalates.

I'm not sure what all this waffle about parking rights/permits is for, if you are genuinely allowed to park there then someone else's assumed rights aren't your problem.

My wife used to receive similar threats in a local town where she used to park in a residential area as it was close to her work, the town car parks did not provide parking for over 4 hours. The same obese scruffy guy would come straight out and start mouthing off at her daily, often threatening her/her car, she wasn't phased and carried on with her day.

One day I went to work with her(im 6'3 17 stone-not fat), she parked up as usual, out he came, I got out of the car first.......you guessed it, not a dicky bird from him and he went back inside. I knocked his door as I wanted to ask him why he often verbally abuses women, his wife answered and when I asked if her husband was in, she replied he had gone too work????

ALL bullies are massive cowards and only understand one language. He never bothered her again for the 18 months she was in that job!
