Simply Switch be careful.

Just an update I called EON to find out what was going on and they tell me they are in talks with simply switch as they should not have offered the rates they did.
I thought I was paying EON for my electricity but I am informed it is simply switch who set the rates, and a few customers have been effected by this.
So I am now in a state of limbo until this mess is sorted out, but I am told that I am with EON for now but after talks which could last months with simply switch, I could get switched back to First Utility and the bills backdated to the date I switched.
I switched to save money from 0.1449/kWh to 0.1029/kWh, EON have already taken my direct debit but won't allow me to input meter reading, be very interested to see if First Utility take a direct debit as well.
What a mess
You were incorrectly informed. The supplier sets the rates they charge their customers.
The comparison site is supposed to display the tariff info as supplied by the supplier, but errors can occur .
However, when you applied to switch, the supplier should have contacted you confirming details of the application and the price they would charge you. You should have been provided 14 days cooling off period if you changed your mind ... or as perhaps in this case, you were not offered the deal you thought you applied for.
Edit: In post 6 above you confirmed you are on the tariff you thought you applied for, even if it was as a result of an error . Confused.com!0 -
There really should be no confusion, according to EON, I am now with them on the tariff I applied for.
Simply switch should not have offered the tariff I am now on.
EON are now in talks with simply switch over their error in offering me this tariff.
Any day, or week or month, or year I could be switched back to First utility.0 -
I am part of the MSE energy club and chose to change from Eon to Scottish power in July this year. I am still waiting for the switch. I have phoned Eon and they have told me that no one has applied for the switch. I have gone back to the energy club and can't apply for another switch because it says I have one pending what can I do:money:
Good morning Tom lacey and welcome to the forum.
I'm sorry for the delay in replying to you.
This sounds like there may be a problem with the information matching.
If we don't have any record of this, it may be that some incorrect information has been sent to us, so we can't take over the supply.
If you have the confirmation email from the CEC this would be good for us to have a look at. You may also want to speak to them and check the details.
We can then look this end and establish if we've received anything and what the problem is.
I'm here to help
Thank you

Good morning pothole50,
Thank you for the reply.
It sounds like we're trying to work out what's gone wrong here and if we're going to be able to bill correctly.
If you do need me, you can email your details to me and I'll be more than happy to help, or just to see how far we've got.
Thank you
