For those who are nearing the end of their mobile phone contract term, remember, if you dont wish to continue, you must contact and cancel as per the T&C's. Also remember when you ring to cancel to record the conversation and/or otherwise retain proof of request to cancel.

It is not unknown for mobile providers to enter a default on your credit profile and not bother to mention it to you.

Sometimes their activities are questionable to say the least.

Always check your profile on noddle ,,other free sites are available.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

  • But if you wish to retain the existing number it would need to be transferred to a new provider by use of a PAC. Once a PAC is used the old contract is automatically canceled.

One other point to note is giving notice.
Mobile companies don't appear to know the difference between:

    i) cancelling within the minimum term.
ii) giving notice in the minimum term.

As far as they are concerned, they will charge a penalty for both, and may or may not refund it, even if you have given notice in the minimum term but the contract will terminated beyond the minimum term.

Indeed, i think there is a fair bit of sharp practice in the mobile one airtime contracts buiness and it is about time some light was shone upon it and hopefully some bit fat fines dished out by OFTEL.
