am sure that there was a similar thread some time ago about near £100 cables and someone trying to justify the cost of these
Everone else just recommended the Poundland ones....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0 -
In the Techie Stuff board I think ... I remember the thread, albeit was last posted on quite a while ago.0

No it's true.. These expensive cables do make a difference.. It is digital but on the cheaper cables the '1's can get stuck if they go through the cable sideways.. On the more expensive cables, there is special digital lubricant that prevents the '1's from sticking and they also encourage the '0's to roll along the cable better.
More expensive cables are also called things like 'monster' which is worth the extra £80 or £90 that they cost.
They are also made by specialised unicorns and we all know how much they charge per hour...0 -

I don't think I have ever paid more than £3 for an HDMI cable (and that included delivery of ebay),
Probably bets to get a 2.0 cable for a 4K TV though.
ANY HDMI cable purchased from Currys is overpriced.0 -
Dear OP, that is an unfortunate series of events that this store happened upon you, I hope the very kind knowledgeable people here have helped you.0

I don't think I've ever bought a HDMI cable, they've come free with the Sky box or Bluray player! Never pay more than a few quid if you need one! Digital signals are exactly the same, it either works or it doesn't. The cheapest ones will work, but may not last as long if they're constantly plugged/unplugged, but most HDMI cables aren't often moved around0

Not true...
If you watch for example..The Apprentice through you satellite receiver or Virgin box using a cheap cable, all the contestants come across and a clueless rabble who couldn't organise a !!!! up in a !!!!ery.
If you use one of the 1000% oxygen and fairydust cables instead then they come across a business superstars who have the power of Richard Branson to the nth degree and have the humility of the Dalai Lama.
.....
I thought that most Bluray players, etc these days started omitting the cable to save a few pence?0 -
