First spends of Dec, £14-94, includes a litre of Baileys £10,so will put that under my others, and ys bits including 3 poussins 70p each, and other bits.
Do I need it or just want it.
  • Finally update sig for November. Not quite back on track - got in a largeish online purchase on the last day as I'd run out of some of my protein baking materials and hot chocolate.

But really positive about December. Assuming DH doesn't repeat yesterday and leave the milk out all day. Then bin it. He said 'it was off'. Im not convinced. I'd still have made rice pudding or scones with it, but instead I had to pick some up on the way home so did the weekend shop then instead of today.

Hoping for a NSD today. Assuming I get in and out of the Co-op without buying anything. I would have bought the stamps as the PO last night but was too late (by 2 mins), so I'm counting that as yesterday spend:rotfl:

    Good luck everyone.

    Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o
  • i spent £39.74 in lidl on the 1st and this morning have done a massive spices shop online for £31.70 so seem to have made huge inroads into my budget already!
luckily my sister and her bloke will be chipping in for when they stay over crimble, it means I have to keep an extra tally of whats being shared, but she knows I cant afford to buy crimble for them.
later today i'll be popping to morrys to use some coupons, I've priced my list, as much as I can, so MUST stick to it.

£3.33 in MrT - milk and lunch
£4 in pound land -packed lunch drinks
    £2.50 wilkos, cleaning stuff

So another £9.83, so £19.29 gone.

MrW vouchers arrived today. May struggle to resist with 20% off code, combined with the 5% cash back from the bank and then the joys of the pick your own 20% off game which makes the preferred cat litter the cheapest option before any other discounts.

So hard to do. I think my hubby must have a set of those horse blinkers stashed in his glove compartment. He seems to be consistently able to walk out of a shop with only listed items!

I am between budgets just now, as we switch to the four week/ month sytem, but have set a four day target, in proportion to the previous month so as to keep track. We also have some funds left over from last month's try out guesstimate.

Mini 4 day Budget £46.67 (+18.50 left over from last month)
Son work lunch £2.00 due to double shift
    Áldi basics £14.35
Fish and chip reward supper for meeting last month's target :D £10.70 (mega portions so a two meal deal did four of us, and we added veg at home)
This leaves £40.12 with a weekend veg & stuff shop tomorrow (usually less than £30)

I won't update my signature as our new 'month' starts on Sunday.

Learning for the week. For simple additions, doing hand calculations by pencil, on a post-it note stuck in my food £ book is a lot less frustrating than using a calculator with a dodgy decimal point key :rotfl:
Target £80 per week groceries, household and cleaning for four adults.
  • Hi everyone - I'd like to join - £100 for December- 2 adults, from 1st to 31st, to include everything, cleaning stuff, toiletries, food grabbed on the run, but not alcohol. The freezer is fairly well stocked, just really need to get fridge stuff. Really want to use up stocks this month - who said 'easier said than done' - too true. So far no spends. Have a lovely weekend.
  • That's a lot of spices purpleybat! I'm now totally curious about what you have bought.

Kkffoo I've just bought myself a really nice budgeting book from @mazon so it's all in one place. I find pen and paper really cathartic, not a fan of listing it on a spreadsheet or digitally. I've been writing mine on a sheet of paper. I'm looking forward to my book arriving.

No spends today, I might go to the shops tomorrow. Still got the tummy bug so there isn't much needed and I don't want to spread it. I think it'd be ok if I didn't do dumb stuff like think cheese would be ok because I was feeling ok. I think my tum is still too delicate for this. Planning on flavouring some vodka when I'm sure I'm better. If I buy it tomorrow, it's coming under the grocery budget, I don't buy alcohol often so it doesn't have a separate budget, but it'll bump my spends up.

Do people include eating out in their grocery budget? I need to get more organised (always my downfall) as seem to end up out and about over meal times and grabbing food, rather than having something with me. Should probably have a thermos and sandwiches or something!

Anyway, 79p on milk today for eldest (she's the only one in the house who drinks dairy milk). Currently now at £173.57.

Still haven't sorted a menu planning - kind've winging it daily. 8yo daughter mostly lives off fishfingers and cucumber (fussy eater), 21month old DD eats anything (olives are a favourite), husband is trying to go vegan. I'm vegetarian with a dairy-free slant. *sigh*
