  • Hope you all had a good Xmas and have a happy new year. I am really under budget (not sure how that happened). Went to family for dinner and was working at Crisis over the Xmas, where they feed you, so not really spent. I usually buy the meat for everyone, but they said no as I don't eat it anymore. I have been working through supplies, but still have a healthy load. Spent £9.50 in Tesco on some bits and reduced items, have updated sig. Will declare at £68.53, which is £31.47 under budget, really pleased (and shocked) with that. Have a lovely new year everyone, see you on the January budget.

Finishing off Dec, possibly within grocery budget as my major shop was paid for with saver stamps and vouchers, had to buy a new microwave yesterday, old one started smoking and smouldering, but got in sale, hopefully Jan will be very light spending.
Do I need it or just want it.

Good and bad news. Not over budget, but hubby's stock up trip to discount pharmacy for toiletries probably means end of year lunch is out :(
I was maybe asking too much in terms of stretching the budget this time of year, and we have done very well.

One more shop left tomorrow, hopefully just bits. We have £22.59 left to cover those. There's a £2 error crept in somewhere as the sum totals and remains aren't quite running together, but that's ok taking into account the complexity of this months shopping. I'm not redoing it now.

Not a huge amount in stock or freezer, but enough that I have a 'use up' list. We have learned a lot and January ought to be simpler.
Target £80 per week groceries, household and cleaning for four adults.
  • Sounds like everyone is doing really well. Here comes 2017!

Save Dosh, that's a great amount to come under by!

Kkffoo, I suppose having the toiletries for the year in at a saving is worth a bit more than one lunch, although it is disappointing. Maybe find room for something special in January?

I spent £23.79 today. Which means I am £7.43 over budget. Given I was swaged into buying a bottle of bubbly for £8 I know exactly where the overspend went! Haha. It's normally £12-14 and is SO nice. £8 is a crazy bargain, but I was restrained and only bought one bottle!

Well done grocery budgeteers and see you in the January thread - and holy moly it's busy in there!

I'll be reducing my budget, just by £20, which given Christmas and new years and my birthday are over, should be more than enough. Mum's asked me to make her birthday cake, which is 4th of February, so buying the ingredients might come under January's budget, or it might come out of birthday budget, depending on how much her gift comes to.

    Evening folks

Shopping today at Al*i was £25.03, including some 19p veggies :j

This means I am just under budget atm, with one day to go and don't think I need anything else this week. Not going to put the 'mockers' on it and declare until t/m :rotfl:

Hope you all have a super last day of the year

Well, I'm declaring over for December. I went a bit mad, as I often do, and started stocking up because I don't want to spend much in January! Looking at what I bought, it's all good stuff which will last, but still... I did however, get loads of packs of 5% mince at 30% off in aldililly, which are split and frozen.

    Must do better!!!

See you in the January thread!
