Oh my! Tes of Co was very full of lost and panicked looking people. Lots of empty checkouts though. Only problem we had was when leaving, as I was pulling out onto the roundabout the car behind me decided he was going to overtake me onto the roundabout and rather than follow him and get petrol as planned I decided to go home as I couldn't guarantee that I would not lose my temper and it's really not necessary.
They had no fresh sides of salmon - no I don't want the prepackaged stuff, but they had plenty of whole salmon. And it was half price. He prepared it into two sides while I did the rest of the shopping. Will chat to mum to see if a side will be enough and then I can freeze the other bit. I'm sure it will be, but I'll check anyway.
Shop came to £56.44 plus £1.60 for cream for mum and dad. I'll add it in and if I get the pennies for it I'll take it off.
£183.64/200 for the month so far! Bit squeaky close for me. But if I factor in Christmas and my birthday (I bought the ingredients for my cake today) then it's ok.
On other budgets; I've gone a bit of Xmas, I should have left it alone! Childcare will be way under as she's not doing anything next week or the one after as I'd factored in, and school only squeezed another £1 out of me, not £10 as budgeted for (just in case). Currently under for other budgets, but there's time! Haha.
£16.36 (or £17.96) left to the end of the month0 -
Evening all
DH went to Li*l today and managed to get chicken breasts. He also bought me two bunches of flowers :kisses2: and got home in one piece.
So £3.49 today, which leaves me with nearly £30 for the rest of the month. Should be doable if I'm careful.
Hope you all have a super christmas eve Saturday :xmassign:

Ashamed to say, I have totally lost the plot here, in more ways than one! Things have been more than usually chaotic; various Offspring have decided to come home a bit earlier than originally planned, which is lovely but as one of the rooms was far from ready, involved re-jigging my plans quite mightily. And my mother went down with another infection, so I've been clocking up the mileage & spending time there too. Not in the slightest bit begrudged, but I can only use each minute once! Today will be spent almost entirely in the kitchen, baking, icing & jellying like mad...
I have NO IDEA what I've spent over the last week or so; I know it's too much. I think we have everything that we need now, but it's been quite chaotic and I'm not looking forward to seeing the bank statement... so my New Year's resolution is to KEEP ON TOP of it a bit better! Mind you, if we run true to form, we'll only have to buy fresh stuff for most of January...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0 -
Sorry to hear about your mum thrift. I trust she's now on the mend from the infection. Enjoy your next few days, worrying about it won't change what's happened. Then after all the festivities do a review. Each year at work I make a Christmas doc with the things that worked (e.g. posada, choir in chancel) and things that could be improved upon (e.g. kings could move round the church each advent Sunday showing their travels) and when it's time to prepare everything I know where I am and I can bring up the change suggestions. It's made me feel so much on top of it. Obviously a bit different to your situation, maybe "factor in buffer time for rooms being ready X days before offspring are due to arrive", "we didn't need the extra tin of chocs even if they were in the nice tin" (that one will probably be mine! Haha!)0

Merry Christmas all!
My ys run was sooo disappointing. I went to mo, m&s, as, mo again, sa, another as and li, and nothing! Loads of birds and meats with a date of 26th though... Can't really go then, as I have family visiting, so that means I've saved all my 50p coins for nothing!!
So, new plan... They will be my ys fund for next year. I will use then when I go ysing, and they won't count in my gc. That way, I may get good hauls throughout the year, similar to what I would have if I'd bought yesterday. Iyswim!!
Anyway, dinner is in the oven, partner is washing up, so I'd better go and look like I'm busy!
Have a great day all - my Christmas officially starts at 4/4:30, when my children are home from their father's house.
