Hi there everyone!
I've missed a few days of Dec so far, and not sure what I've spent. So, instead of giving up for this month and spending willy nilly, I'm going to set a budget of £100 for the rest of the month, including my Xmas spending. Partner buys the meat for Crimbo, and I do the rest. I've already bought a few cheeses, but need other nice bits and veg etc for the day. Partner's mum has made us a Xmas cake, so lots of the expensive bits already accounted for .
My children are becoming less fussy now, which is great. I bought a 2fer pie last week. We had DD's choice then, and my choice today. Neither Chad liked it, but they both ate it. I said I wouldn't get it again. Shame though, as I really liked it!!
No spends planned until Sunday - the poor house is heaving with food! I reckon all I'll need then is some bread, some milk and a few fresh bits.
Partner home from his 3-week Oz holiday next Tuesday, so will prob end up cooking some treaty type dinners for the first few days he's back. We don't live together (he lives 43 doors along from me!!), but I feed him a few days a week usually.
Anyway, night all!

I've started making coleslaw, can't believe how much better it tastes than the bought stuff and even a quarter white cabbage plus bits seems to make a boat-full. I shall look up homous........
Managed another NSD today :j
Made an asparagus quiche for a change - which was a really yummy dinner with new potatoes and salad. That's my 'something different' for this fortnight :rotfl:
Hope you all have a super Wednesday

spends of £11 yesterday, whoops, though in my defence i did buy a £9 rack of lamb from morrisons reduced to £3, and 2 rings of cherizo reduced down to £1.50 each. not much left to spend within the budget so will have to be careful. xx0

Late starting Decembers challenge, a mix up with wages meant my month didn't really start til last Friday. Going for £350 again though don't have very high hopes due to all of our family coming for Christmas dinner. Hoping they will each bring a dish keeping the costs down for me0

Hi everyone, haven't posted in a while due to frantic Christmas half term and lots of visitors. Both lovely but very time consuming:)
I had a disastrous month in November so I've held off shopping trips until desperate and have not gone 'off list':j
I've done a main food shop and a fruit and veg top up for just over £30 since the 26th so I'm pleased with that. I've done a meal plan (including a family get together for 15 this weekend) and I actually don't need that much so I'm hoping this week will be no more than £35.
PP xOriginal mortgage £112,000 . Final payment due August 2027.

No spends today and the nausea has finally gone! Hurrah! The fridge is looking rather bare...but I have left over soup and left over kedgeree for lunches coming up. Made Victoria sponge, banana bread and gingerbread men all from ingredients in the house. The bananas I've been saving for baking as their skin had turned black. Perfect for banana bread. Hopefully some people will turn up tomorrow lest we'll be eating cake for a while!!!0

Nsd yesterday, as planned, although I was really tempted to get a chippy diner as I was so tired... Managed to just go home, almost on autopilot, so that was a tenner saved. Tonight I'm working late, but already have some potato peel soup that I made Tuesday, so hopefully ill be able to stay away from the lure of morries ys! No space in the freezer anyway!!
Partner and I are planning to hit the sms on Xmas eve, to try and get ys meat for next year. We've not done this before, but I've heard of people who've done really well with this. Any tips? Best time, best shop, etc?
