Hi, Has anyone had any experience of a program called scanguard. It's free and its supposed to make your computer work better. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance kje.

"Scanguard" - #shudder#
Absolute garbage.
Steer very very clear of this and any other program that claims to make your computer run faster.
Registry boosters etc.
All total garbage and will have the opposite effect than advertised0 -
Avoid.
As I posted before, there is an advert to 'speed up your pc' or similar on the rolling adverts within the Microsoft Solitaire Collection app on Windows 10, if you click the link you will be taken to scanguard.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Read through this very recent thread!0

The ScanGuard website indicates they are a UK based company with a 2016 Copyright so they apparently are new.0

It's snake oil , avoid
I'd personally never allow a program to "clean" my Registry , ccleaner got it wrong a few years ago and corrupted a load of XP pcs , the pcs would never do Windows updates afterwardsEx forum ambassador

To get a faster 'outer, ditch windows and load any version of Linux.
Distro watch.com has every version and you can download it, relate a boot disk or USB stick and away you go.0 -
Totally agree. Linix Mint 18 cinnamon edition or Xubuntu would be faster, smoother, safer and easier operating systems to use.0

Have the last two posts been made in the wrong thread?
What has Linux to do with a dubious Windows program?0 -
...ah the nomadic Linux tribe with no friends and no home who wander aimlessly through the plains of forums...
..indeed very similar to that Windows 10 tribe...you know the ones, that swore by windows 8, then Windows 8.1.. and now find themselves camped on something a little better than quicksand.0 -
Aye, but it's Linux quicksand.
